Soul of Azores is a game where you are an explorer that was sent to the Azores islands to find, research and photograph the newly discovered dark corals in the mid-oceanic ridge, and during your adventure you start gathering new informations regarding the life under that warm sea. Just you, a camera and maybe some jellyfish trying to get to you, try to succeed and continue on with your mission to deliver good reports and researches.

Devlog #5 – Updating after the delivery!

Hi everyone, hope you are feeling great! In today's update, we don't have a lot to update you on, however, we didn't want to leave you without updating you on what we made and want to work on! Since we had our delivery on the previous week, we didn't have a lot of time to work on something big, but we have something to show you!

Artwise…

As said before, all of us didn't have a lot of time to develop something big after the delivery, so for the art, our artist made the mock-up — Figure 1 —, which he now is altering parts of it to look more accurate to the idea of what we have for our game, this is a initial version of the changes he is making so it will possibly change even more — Figure 2 —!

Regarding Programming…

Our programmer, this week, started working on the new exposure feature of the camera — GIF 1 —, which we will start testing next week with our target audience, to be able to see what will better fit our game, regarding the camera feature. The programmer and the game designer made on the previous weeks the first batch of tests for the game, to see if the gameplay was well adapted to our target and if it was up to the audience's expectations.

A little note: This GIF has little quality so it doesn't show you really what it looks like in reality, but we will make sure to bring you some better GIFs next time to show you! Since it was too heavy to put it here.

Game Design…

As for game design, I ended up making the report, and this new week I went and adjusted our planning to the new guidelines for our Production Phase! Also, I started making the new forms for the new incoming tests that we will be making in these future weeks, which will be regarding the altered gameplay and mechanics functions and the first graphic tests!

Unfortunately, I don't have anything visual yet to show you, so I hope that next week I can bring you something more!

Thank you!

For this week, that's all we have! Hope you guys are as excited as we are, and next week we will bring you more things! Have a great week! :D
