I have made a new navmesh for the 64 player map Sharqi Peninsula to allow play with AI bots.
There is a PDF in the download with instructions for installation.
Note that this is not an exact copy of the original 64 player map.
There have been some changes to the static objects and flags:
Some of the flags have a bigger capture radius to make it easier for vehicles to capture them. A few
of the flags have been moved onto roofs to stop the vehicles getting stuck on them.
Some objects have been moved or deleted to give AI vehicles a better chance of navigating narrow
alleyways etc.
Boats will now work on this map.
If you change the flag layout and start to experience random crashes try redoing your Strategic
Areas. Specifically make sure the ‘order positions’ for both infantry and vehicles are in places
where the navmesh exists and the soldiers and vehicles can reach them. Order positions that the AI
cannot reach will crash the level.
Also included are the 3D object files (*.obj) used making the Navmesh. If you know how and wish
to edit them further they are in the folder location:
sharqi_peninsula\server.zip\GTSData\output
I used python 2.3.4 to create the Navmesh with BF2Editor.
I used Blender 3.3 to edit the Navmesh obj files.
Thank you for doing this, I like your maps much more than the original ones! Great job!
Thanks. This one was not too hard. There is a bit of a delay getting the 64 Great Wall map out, so I thought I better release something!
I like it, thank you
thank you friend)
No problem.
thanks for your work :) here video: Youtu.be and I like your version
Nice.
You got floating m249 at alley way cp
I can not find the floating gun. Are you using the correct GamePlayObjects.con that is in the download?
I did find I had forgotten to lightmap the corner building.
Thanks for your continued efforts for the bot slaying part of the BF2 community. :)
This is great stuff.
Thanks. Glad people are enjoying it.
Fixed up lightmap on the building in the Alleyway.
UPLOADED: sharqi_peninsula-64coop.1.zip
Wow, how have I not found these navmeshes. They instantly make playing the game singleplayer way more fun now!
Thanks Leighter! Glad you like them. They will all be packaged up into a mod to be released sometime next year 2025.
Send me a message if you find any areas where the bots get stuck.
Thank you for your service sir.
Now I can enjoy a desperate last stand against a relentless tide of knife-wielding MEC zombies, aided by my not very bright or capable but well equiped usbots in another glorious map.
Sounds like fun. Good to see the navmeshes are getting use in other mods.
