First of all, when I see a poorly written post, I get the impression that the MOD Leader:

1.) Is a 5 year-old.
2.) Thinks they can run a team, but can't even write a decent post.
3.) Isn't dedicated to their MOD, the fact they can't even write a post properly shows the amount of time they put in.

Now, this usually isn't true at all, but, thats what I, and many others, think when we see poorly written posts.

Having a poorly written post is one of the best ways to steer potential MOD team members in the other direction, so I'll go over this first.

let me show you an example.

Hey im the leader opf the TIme OF Repentance mod.
Its for Hafl-Life two

we have lots of weapons, guns swords shotguns and flamers

theres are two different gameplays

kill mode where everybody kills each other, and the round strars again

takeover mode where one player is the evil guy at first but then they

fight and turn others into bad buys

Now. There's a few things wrong with this post. We'll go over each one, and attempt to inject some sort of life into this thing, as we go along.

Now, if you're going to post a help request, with bad spelling, puncuation, etc...lets just hope, you've provided enough information.

As you saw in the example, the information provided is pretty useless, as it gives little idea of what the MOD is actually about. Usually, a decent post, should include the theme of the MOD ( thats the idea ), the types of weapons, and gameplay modes.

Now, heres what the example, should have looked like, if it were to have some more information.

Hey im forbiddenSword the leader opf the TIme OF Repentance mod.
Its for Half-life two, its multiplayer, where army soldiers fight each other in industrial areas

We hav lots of weapos planned, randing from shotguns to flamethrowers, mostly guns, though some melee weapons like katanas

2 different gameplay modes have been planned so far

kill mode where everybody kills each other until nobody is left, when the round starts again, this is pretty standard

takeover mode where one player begins on the evil team, and as they kill the good team, they become members of the evil team, and the player who survives the longest wins the round, and becomes the new evil player./

Now, thats still not perfect, but, it gives a better idea of what the MOD is.

Another gigantic turn-off for potential-members, is the fact that the leader can't even spell simple words, space their paragraphs ( if they know what they are ) evenly, add correct punctuation, etc.

Usually, as a rule of thumb, keep each paragraph for each section of information. e.g. one for the intro, one for weapons, one for gameplay, etc. I like to keep mine anywhere from 4-8 lines long.

Spacing evenly is also important. If I did this:

and started typing here, it's not very pretty, is it?

Also, you'll want to use punctuation where appropriate, it makes everything clearer, and shows you're willing to put the time into writing your help request, and therefore are dedicated to the MOD.
