UDK Light Mapping Tutorial Click Here

Hey guys here's a tutorial that i wrote about Light Mapping in the Unreal Development Kit. I used the April Beta but most UDK versions should be fine.

Tutorial comes with all the assets needed to complete the tutorial as well as the starting and ending file and a PDF version so you can keep it for your own use. Its also written in a step by step manner so it should be easy to follow.

Let me know what you think and if it was helpful. All comments are very appreciated

Nice screenshots and the tutorial flows nicely. It showed me somthig new but I'm wondering how bad does increesing the lightmaping like this hit performance?

Thank you I'm glad I was able to help. I use this technique on major structures in the game. Obviously you wouldn't want to lightmap every single little rock and pebble in your scene (trust me I tried it lol) but to be honest I haven't really seen a huge effect on performance. Remember too much of something good turns bad so light map within reason, you wouldn't want to use a 1024 lightmap on a desk or small objects.
