This tutorial from Noesis Interactive shows you to take your 3D model from Maya and turn it into an active video game prop. Learn the processes of exporting, compiling, and integrating your prop into a level and then watch as it is used in Half-Life 2. This lesson is taken directly from the Noesis Interactive training DVD "Custom Props and Animation for Source Powered Games with Maya".
Download "Noesis Database-Intro to Custom Props with Maya" before starting as it contains files used in this demonstration video. You will also need to get the Maya application from Autodesk.
For more video tutorials we recommend you browse them all at the Noesis Profile.
Great to see some quality video tutorials coming through ModDB :)
Thanks a bunch Wraiyth !! We'll definitely keep putting them on ModDB as fast as we can create them. :)
Very nice. but in the start of the video were you exported the zip/rar was it not easyer just to export it to maya?
Well that pretty much convinced me. And the Timing could not be better for me. Sudden windfalls and all. Maya 2009, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS4 are going to be mine to command soon...
now I'm just praying that Plug-in work with Maya 2009 Complete as well...
thanks for the awesome informative video. You can count on me stopping by your site and grabbing the DVDs...
Do you think you could make a new version of this? possibly for mac?
Please update this. parts of this don't work for me. Maya 2012 and the 2009 base of sdk. I won't pay for outdated tutorials.
