1. Introduction:
H.I.V.E Beta is mod for Gears of War created to fill the lack of Horde mode on PC.
2. Installation:
- a. Delete old mod files
- b. Download GearCooker, HIVE Mode Karn Reborn from Moddb site and any map pack you want.
- c. unpack HIVE Mode Karn Reborn and move Config, Localization and Unpublished to
c\users\ypur_user_name\Documents\My Games\Gears of War for Windows\WarGame
- d. unpack Gearcooker anywhere, run open settings, target your WarGame-G4WLive.exe, otherwise it will not run cooker properly.
- e. add maps to the list
- f. Run Cooker
- g. After completing Cooking you can run your freshly installed copy of H.I.V.E Mode.
Installation of every mappack:
Just unpack maps to HiveMaps directory and cook them, If map contains some pack just put it in environments directory and then start cooking.
3. Known Issues:
a. Game Crashes - try to reset your graphics settings - or lower it for playing this mod - it uses big ammount of memory so it can be unstable at some point
b. dont know how to respawn while spectating - press F1 on keyboard
c. "I have black textures" - reset your graphics setting - its cooked content so game can loose itself at some points ;)
d. while hi jack objective - jack doesnt move - shoot him he lost his path.

did you run your cooker? it should compile all files and put copies into your published directory. if you have any difficulties i will make a pdf tutorial on how to cook mod

I've placed all packages on Gears of War My Documents Directory, create shorcut of WarGame-G4Wlive and added ''CookPackages -platform=PC HiveMenu... etc'' and when it's cooking shows that Failed Load to characters packages, muttering etc, and doesn't cook, and when I run the game and type start HiveMenu doesn't start, it says that HiveMenu map not exist
Cause it didnt cooked - check your pm I'll try to help you out.
thanks, I made it work... but... not cooked propertly on maps Clockwork, and Outpost and Security maps crashes, enviroments folder not cooked if someone has it cooked I could try them, meanwhile I'll downmloading ''Outpost Map Model Pack'' wish me luck
It still crashes on maps ClockTower, Security and Outpost, Gridlock and Warmachine no problem BTW... you really didi it, it's awesome, I could try a cooked map of ClockTower and cooked files of Enviroments folder ''Gears_Of_War_2_Package.upk'' and ''Gow2_Package_Outpost'', do you think it could work?, meanwhile I'll cook again maybe I miss something, and thanks for this modd, the little that I've played it's awesome
i want to see screenshots of errors the cooker shows it will really help me out to solve your problems
ok, thanks, one more things when finishes cook says something about that files are maded with an engine editor updated than mine...I have a non updated engine editor, what ever, I'll make that screenshoots and post them I'm downloading again, don't worry about time, weekends are good to response like I said works for me on 2 maps, for now it's enough for me, btw... Xbox 360 controller works fine, thanks for support

hey bmbr1990, thank alot for this mod, its epic. i was hoping if u could look into the controller issue. i tried using the 360 control and it didnt wrk as u said. also got a logitec controller and still no luck. im getting wasted using the keyboard and mouse. plz plz give us a patch to use any type of gamepad
I will look into it - now I need to publish map pack and rest for a while to clear mind before I'll start working on patch.
men i try to cooking maps for hive mode but show me a error line says matineecam_sp this will not load in game error saving warmachine.war

Skydrive.live.com try to download this package and paste it in your game directory(not in my documents), if that fails - try to play on uncook version - to play on uncook just move HIVE mode directory from unpublished directories to Published Directories
Does this mod work with a torrented version of the game?
No, only original version of game is supported. You can try to run this on uncooked content but you can be missing a lot of content.

Can you explain to me in more depth how to install, i run the cooker.exe but it wont let me run it? Start cooking button isnt doing anything?
