My friends and I have played this mod for what seems like a million hours. So much fun to be had.
You can do almost whatever you want. Buggy races, formation flight practice, dogfight, fort building and so mcuh more! =D
Two thumbs up and a 10/10.
It is quite clear that the makers of this mod put great effort as a team and individually into the creation of each element of the mod. The skins are beautifully done, and even though the mod is still currently German Only, playing in Skirmish does allow you to play the guess and check game to learn things on your own. Overall a great new take on BFMEII: RoTWK, I eagerly await the English Translation so that I'll enjoy the mod even more.
It certainly has it's rough spots in level design and coding, and at times, it almost feels unfinished.
But this is no left 4 dead. There are no friends, no running zombies and no stashes of ammo at every corner. LotD is a very sincere surival horror game, with zombies literally crawling out of the woodwork with, at times, not enough ammo to dispatch them all.
It's tense and and at times, actually very creepy (I actually had to build up courage to go through the cornfield at the beginning of the game), but this is no Halo and, like I said, no Left 4 Dead, so don't expect top notch quality.
But those who can overlook flaws in graphics and even coding should give this a gander, it's a blast :)
While the game was plagued with some critical bugs, it's unique physics and momentum based battles are incredibly addictive. It has a unique, mostly, story that mainly becomes irrelevant after the first smash of a hammer. It's unique take on analog controls, mapping the mouse to the movements of the ship and letting physics do the job of the weapon are incredibly precice and addictive, providing a lot of depth and a very natural way of controling the ship.
Frankfully I could not stop playing this game until I had unlocked everything in there and still start it from time to time to deliver some more hammers in the face of unruly enemies, 100% must own.
Really fun and really addictive, it's hilarious style both graphics wise, sound wise and "story" wise make it attractive, gameplay wise it varies from level to level and from game to game, a lot of unique situations made it most enjoyable(destroying the last mega zombie wrecking the city with a single foot soldier just before nightfall is one of my most memorable experiences).
Huge modding possibilities of the game and a huge mod database as well as great gameplay make this game one of the must owns.
The idea is unique and the gameplay generally fun, some of the levels are true brainbusters.
On the other hand the unique graphical style of the game is interesting at first and mostly wierd at the end, not really bad but annoying at least.
