Story seemed great... until I got stuck trying to get the gates open to the Reliquary. I've tried restarting from earlier maps at least 5 times and I've followed 3 different let's plays to the exact action and the gates refuse to open.
Shame really was enjoying the story lots.
Better luck next time I guess.
I have been waiting for a zombie survival game that was more than just running and gunning a la Left 4 Dead. Seems like there's a glut of that out there these days.
Zomboid thankfully is exactly what I was looking for. A survival game with enough depth to keep it interesting and a persistent world that keep growing even after your first (and there will be many) death.
So if you're looking for a zombie game that isn't just about chopping heads off this is your ticket to some scary excitement.
A very well balanced, historically based mod. It's truly fun to play, the items are beyond any quality I've seen in most Warband mods, and the gameplay is terrific. Instead of being a 1337 uber Roman with play armor, you're put into the position of various classes right out of the history books, with their latin names. An all around good mod, 10/10.
This mod was the reason I learned how to play Crusader Kings 2 properly. Paradox earned more money from me through DLC because of this mod and i can't think of a bigger compliment than that.
This mod is really a dream come true for book readers and tv show fans of the Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones. Having to deal with the usual courtly intrigue with ASOIAF twist, Targaryens with Dragons, quests to find Valyrian steel (swords), the Night's Watch, Wildlings and other ASOIAF factors really elevates this beyond a mere mod for me. It could be sold as a stand alone expansion it is that good. If you own the soundtrack to the TV show you can easily replace the music (which is still pretty damn good) and really create that Westeros feel. With an upcoming Essos expansion this is really turning out to be one of the best mods ever made, and I don't say that lightly.
To be honest this was fun for the first few matches, let's say 30 minutes. After that it just got repetitive. The same OSP that's been Mount and Gladius for years. Nothing is really NEW, there's nothing that stands out besides the Germanic tunics that make your eyes bleed just to look at them. It's balancing is sloppy, and not even close to being realistic to the items physical properties. A short sword is the same length as a long sword, does less damage, and is slower, whereas the longest, most expensive sword possible is ridiculously fast and powerful. If the balancing can't even be based on the weapons physical properties how can we expect for all the faction to have something to contribute? The Romans basically plow through everything with their Lorica Segmentata that seems to cause anything and everything to bounce, and on the off chance you DO get a hit in, it hardly does anything. Anyways. Rant over, DarthTaco out.
