I don't think it'll be very good..
I heard something about aliens replacing the "hell" theme.
It sounds pretty lame and the trailer was very lame.
Doom: the movie? It should be named, Resident evil: mars - the forgotten chapters or something like that :P

JEEZ, i can't beelive they managed to suck a reasonable plot out of DOOM. the game is all shoot'em up, only 1 charachter. NO PLOT.
might as will make a half-life movie the person playing gordon dont even hve to talk lol

personally video game movies suck, but can be entertaining to watch, mortal kombat house of the dead, crappy ones like that. but halo is being made and i am sorta interested in that one, but with doom ill just wait for dvd to see it.

Bah, the doom story can suck my proverbials. I think they should make a movie out of Half-Life, but it should all be filmed from a first-person perspective. They should hire some hells artsy director and film something truly innovative.
ACTUALLY ... they were thinking of creating a Half-Life movie ... Newell has apparently been asked by several producers about the idea ... It was in a news post once on PHL from Newell
Perhaps he's talked about it, but I can't see him actually doing it. Gordon on film wouldn't be right...
And seriously, Doom didn't have a complex story, and I guess they still managed to hack it up for the movie. (So long as the rumors I've read so far are true)

Doom as a game was great for it's time. but come on what i have seen it is just Splat splat blood yay no story. and the monsters does look like aliens and the film is about to end befor he even is near hell.
Hated Doom since it came out and stole Wolf3D's thunder(and the code, too, actually. iD never played fair with Apogee) so there's not way I'm going to watch a pile of garbage (the movie) based on an even worse pile of garbage (the game)

The simple fact is that Doom didn't -have- a story. You had to run a batch file in order to read the one sentence smoking pile of crap that explained just why you're running aimlessly around shooting things. Nowhere in the game was there evidence of the story, nor did it progress as you progressed through the game.
Wolf3D, on the other hand, had a story that's original even today, especially when you got to the 3-6 chapters. Nazi's trying to reanimate dead soldiers to make a larger army? Count me in!

of course I have to watch it, just to see how bad it potentially gets mangled. There are lots of bad movie to games, but is it possible to make a game to movie any good? These are questions I have and only DOOM is the solution!
it looks like the worst peice of sh!t in the world. The fact is that in a video game, setting is EVERYTHING. I highly doubt that the ******** who made this movie will be able to even come close to the superior set designe seen in doom 3, let alone the writing ability needed to port this excellent content over such a huge media gap. In short (and admitedly the long isn't that long), we are unlikely to see the artisic talent required to make such a huge jump from video game to movie. It's really about time we saw movie that didn't discrace those who put real creativity into the games that they're modled after; Doom is not that movie.
I'm going to see this, but not because I particularly want to myself. Last week my friend dragged me to go see Domino, which was nigh short of being terrible, so this is my revenge.

I'm waiting for the Hitman movie and the Halo movie
The Hitman movie will SUCK cos vin diesel is hitman. the Halo movie will ROCK cos peter jackson is producing it. There is a chance of a Half-Life movie, and a quake Movie is being made. the doom movie has a chance, but will most probably be ****.... thats all i have to say.
I'll be watching it on DVD if you know what I mean.
Just got back from seeing it. Wow, was that movie bad. But it tortured my friend to no end. :devil:

If you guys said its not good.. think again......... DOOM inspired me it leaves me dreaming of it words cannot express its greatness! Yes its not from hell any more the monsters were actually created. This was such a HIGH budget movie!

Yeah im gonna watch it to, even if it sucks, i dont think its gonna be scary or impressive however i dont doubt that such a clown as 'the rock' is gonna act stupid enough to make the crappy thing funny.

I can't believe these people that did not like Doom the movie.
Park your brain at the door, enjoy the flick for the action/gore fest that is, and pick up your brain on the way out. Please don't make a fool out of yourself by trying to analyze the film. It's simple entertainment not great story telling. I watched it, got a few laughs, enjoyed it thoughly.

Well, isn't that the point of the game as well? Park brain in neutral, suspend your disbelief, pretend to be scared every now and then, then make Doom jokes once it's all said and done?
There really isn't an option up there for "yeah, probably will see it at cinema, but I'm not enthused". Option 1 just looks too enthusiastic for my taste, and option 2 looks too underenthusiastic.
Doom is just a mindless killing movie. Very simple plot, amazing detail, props, and animation. If you didnt like it then thats fine, but this movie was a killer, it was the best movie i have seen in a while. If you are going to snipe at every little mistake or thing in the movie you dislike, go complain to the makers :O lol
