Why do, or would you make a mod?

Well I make mods cause it is fun, but Im also going to add it to my CV (resume) to show I have created something.

Definetly for fun. If something isn't (relatively) fun, what's the point in doing it?

for fun.. i like to skin and model cuz it makes me feel proud of myself when i see em ingame!

I do it for the fun.. and 'cause I can.. a little bit also can't hurt.. eventhough main factor is fun!

For fun, and also to get some experience for the future when I might become a games programmer. Who knows, maybe I'll get a job with Valve? :D

I think making mods is the coolest thing to do!

accomplishment of something bigger than lego's. Or model airplanes. I do it for fun. I can get money and chicks on my own!

if fun isn't involved then it prolly won't get released cos you have to enjoy making it, no matter how much hard work and time it is

heh i put 'for fame' thinking that it meant by being popular to the community. for my dream is to be known as the leader and administrator of an excellent and well-known mod, such as what im hoping to be the current mod im working on.

codeing not fun but maybe i'll start to learn it seems coders are very few and hard to find

But if I would make a mod (will never happen because I make a game not a mod) it definitly has to be for fun. Everything else will suck at long terms. And what's working without fun???

i would love to make a MOD, i am an excellent mapper
i just dont know how to model, animate, or code.
and i cant handle stress and deadlines so i dont want to be on a team.

though when HL2 comes out i plan on learning C++, and i can just borrow other models (with permission of course!)
