Dunno if staff is more fair, but at least more varied and usually bring to light some mods that got passed over by the general public that deserved more attention.

Both, but whereas the Player's Choice results are more predictable than Editors' Choice, I voted for the latter. I'm interested to see what gems you guys pick out, since some mods definitely don't get the attention they deserve and thus wouldn't win in Player's Choice.

It's pretty obvious who the masses will vote for, some of us are looking to you staffers to shed some light on the lesser-known mods.

Editors choice. I know they fixed the nomination system, but untill they get the top 100 voting down to top 5 mods, as opposed to top 3 per cattagory then I'm afraid the public vote is still a bit micky mouse.

Players choice is the big one, that is decided by 100,000+ votes - however editors choice brings more variance to the table.

I like both but probably lean towards editors choice, as I enjoy knowing why a certain mod / game was picked, vs. simply knowing it is popular.

Give the man a cigar. The latest phrase is the key one. Knowing "why" is important not how many fanboys one could rally up.

Editors choice here too. Chance of seeing some real good stuff ( except some few entries in MOTY ) you would overlook otherwise.

Give the man more than a cigar! Throw in a few AKs and some Geishas! Editor's pick are watched by everyone, they're high-profile choices, they're bound to be *good* mods. Or, at least, mods that are really interesting. Public choices are just... yeah, whatever people heard the most about.

i'm gonna say editors choice.

PLayers choice tends to bandwagon , with hyped mods or those with alot of advertising winning out over some really awesome, but more subtle ones.

Editor's choice.

At least a source mod will not have a near hundred percent chance of winning that round.

I like Editors most because they make the wisest choices when pickin winners. Because when it comes to the Players choice, only popular mods win(Zombie Panic spookiest mod WTF).

I like my MOTY results the most :D Well, the Average Player is asshole, so I don't need average results...

But it's good to compare Editor's and player's choices. The only thing I don't like - sometimes, there are just too many mods out there, so both editors and players don't have enough time to check them out like they should... It's not very often, though.

His purse? Like he needs such an archaic tool to play games and mods. What you don't want to be is the computer chip on the server that handles his bank account or credit card balance. You'd be overheating.

I just hope idiots don't vote. Many people in Mod DB just nitpick what mods they know from their friends, and don't really go to the effort to look into modifications themselves. That was one reason why I hated how ZP:S got the spookyness award, and not AoM.

I say Player's Choice, but I sincerely hope stupid people don't sway popular judgment when making a vote.
