For those that don't know, DesuraNET Desuranet.com is the network that runs ModDB. We are currently thinking of a name change and thank you for your vote.
Desura is better in my opinion, gammaup is pretty "hard" to read quickly. If I was quickly scanning a page and read desura I would remember it more easily, and not forget the correct spelling.

Gamma itself is fun to say, but I agree with the desura logic, it rolls off the tongue better.

GammaUp sounds way too childish and silly.

Desura is better, Gammaup doesn't have any flow to it.
Dasura is unique, gamma sounds silly.

Stick with desura.com IMHO! It's a cool sounding enough name and as they say... "If it aint broke, then don't fix it"! Tbh... gammaup.com sounds a bit naff to me! lol.

I don't like gammaup (it's also hard to say). But if you're in the market for a name-change, I DO encourage thinking up more stuff, because the perfect name is out there somewhere. (Desura is decent, but not godly, so there's the optimism of finding something that just hits all the right notes for everybody... like 'Mod DB')
We've spent ages on the name, come up with several hundred believe me, and this is what we ended up on. Finding a name with a .COM that is still available isn't easy. Another name we shortlisted with luminolab.com
A good name is hard to come up with at times, DesuraNET sounds perfectly fine (and in a way computer related... must be the NET part) to me.

Hm... The supporters of GammaUP (That is the only way I can think to type it outside of a URL without it looking weird) seem to be silent...
Desura FTW, in my mind it gets the mental reaction of "Perfect! DO NOT CHANGE IT!!!" whilst "GammaUP" gets "WTF? NO!"
Of course that is just me, but Desura seems to have perfect flow/nifty sound.
We just thought "Gamma" was more gaming related...
