GeForce FX cards sux... they've more errors than M$ ****... nahhh... ATI!
And of course AGP... although folks... everything over 2x is just a joke... i see people go for 8x cards... don't make me LOL... the bus can't barely supply 2x... LOLROTFL
What? FXes? :P well duh they're faster, but this AGP, PCI, express stuff means nothing to me. (I don't know which is better)
I just know that I have a PCI one right now :P What's an AGP, one of the things that connects to your hard drive or something?
lol, its Advanced(or Accelerated) Graphic Port, especialy designed for graphic cards, AGP 2X is 133Mhz AGP 4X is 266 Mhz and AGP 8X is 512Mhz
PCI is 33Mhz
AGP just has a modified bus to allow grakas to run faster... but there comes the problem... they still hook up to the same bus system the CPU is hooked up and thus the real speed of image processing dwindles down with the data send (bottleneck). Usually all above 2x speed on AGP serves nothing cause your bus slows you down (and bad written apps like ut2k3 too). So if you wanna get an upgrade go for an ATI AGP card (9600 is way enough, you can also go above if you feel the need for it) and put the AGP speed to 2x in bios (you can try 4x but won't really give more).
Well I have seen allkind of fun compromizes in display adapters but recent find is best of all time. Some manufacturer haev made card "ATI 9600 Se" ít sounds fast, but even my old GF2 MX 400 beats it, why ? Because pepole seldom check for how many bit transfer card has, or what kind memory it has. That causes that 100 € costing card aren't worth of that LOUSY 100 € because even tuned turle is faster backwards than those INVALID made cards.
BTW. fisrt time I saw this "ATI RADEON 9600 SE" I laughed for rest of day...
And here is someuseful shortenings
AGP = Accelrated Graphics Bus
DDR = Dual Data Rate
DMA = Direct Memory Access
The problem is not the ati radeon 9600 stuff... it's the SE. Never buy an ATI having SE or LE. These are cards throttled down to sell them cheap and they suck.
agp x8
carn the ModDB GFX System :D
Why should somebody get an Onboard, PCI or PCI-X card :confused:
how bout a GeForce FX 5950 ULTRA? that's the most powerful vid card on market xD
no the ati 9800 xt is

moddb gfx?? WTF
i voted ModDB GFX :D!
T-RonX : PCI Express is the new graphics system that will replace AGP with the new motherboard form factor BTX which is being released this year...
/me has no idea what the heck the differences are
well fx'es have many new features, but they are too slow for them:P not counting 5900 ultra:P

the idea itself sounds nice... espiecally 'cause you don't fight against the bus system like with agp.
I dont think I will be upgrading my PC until that is released then...
i am getting a new AGP this summer but I will also get another PCI card so i can have 3 monitors :)
onboard all the way baby!!!!!
long live the Nvidia cards. they own ati and that all i need to say. that and bridge builder will only work on the nidia cards and that game rules
hm... games only running on one card... very short sighted... U_U
