Used to use ASE, it was good but can cost money and I don't really play much online so I nolonger bother with it.
I also use Cogs (Telstra game server browser...)
I use the in game browsers :) 3rd party browsers are too much of a pain in the A**
i use GameSpy and Steam. GameSpy is great for those old games that dont have a good server system (the kinds where you have to enter the exact address)
I use Steam and ASE

I've made a mod runner that will work for any game that has a folder-based system for their mods (WON HL, Steam HL1 & 2, Battlefeild 1942, Farcry, Quake ...). And I plan on expanding it to allow adding custom mods/games to the list so it will work with any game.
So I use that. And no you can't have it yet, it's still in production and other people are having trouble running it. When (if) I get this thing done, tested and working on other people's machines I'll let you know.
In-game. Like Bryan says, 3rd party just isnt worth the extra effort.
Steam's gonna own this poll :P
I use STEAM and Xfire. I think Xfire though is one of the coolest programs ever, if they had a system where I could also send files that would be awsome. I try to get my friends logged in all the time, the ability to just click "join" is a lot cooler than calling or getting TS up and trying to get the IP from somebody which I am sure we all know can be annoying since like games don't include that info on the stats to much anymore.
I use GAIM, and Xfire for all my messaging needs also.
I use HLSW for all my server connecting and serching, and use there gamer search to find friends that are playing.
www.gametiger.net anyone :)

COGS!
I wish i had times to play games
cogs, steam, and server query, even though sever query is no longer around, i built my own from the source
UT2004 in-game gamebrowser :P
I use the ingame stuffs.
I have added the in-game option for u all! seems to be mentioned quiet a bit!
why not use the in-game one. its meant for the game.
qtracker.com and in game browser
Well, anything Half-Life I use Steam. It's just easier than using anything else, and it's handy too. Steam great, I don't care what you think.
For anything else, I use Gamespy Arcade. I bought it when it was just a single payment of $20.00...
www.serverquery.com completely free
*in-game* only... as honestly all the other game-browsers plainly sux.
I also use hlsw
I use COGS, and Australian gaming browser. Sorry Yankies, this one only has Australian servers

I use KQuery4 www.kquery.com , also ASE and when those two fail in-game browser baby.
havent used gamespy arcade or a long while. I only mostly use steam. but i dont know what In-Game is. ill google it to find out.
ASE or Steam
shouldn't steam be considered in-game? i mean with WON gone and everything, we don't really have any other choice to play HL....
well, yeah. Steam then (which is in a way in-game)
In game, of course. I hate GameSpy & Steam, and I only use ASE for games without other browsers (i.e. MTA).

Steam. It seems that since the only online games I've been playing as of late are related to Half-Life and Half-Life 2, it's the only program I really use. I haven't used Gamespy Arcade in the longest of times :P
HLSW and Xbox Live. So in game and not.
COG COGS COGS < telstra pwns in some ways :P

I use ingame browsers in games that have decent ingame browsers (UT2004), I use steam for HL games, and I use ASE for everything else. I despise gamespy, and I never use the ingame versions of it.
And I also use Xfire, but I don't count that as a server browser.

Xfire is just so much better. The server browser isn't great, I admit easily, but it is accessible.
Fantastic for admin use and has an extremely small desktop footprint. HLSW = win.
Is steam really valid?
I know it's a game browser, but it only searches for VALVE games, whereas the others search for all games.
I use Steam for VALVE games, ASE for other games
