I put it on normal, so I can really play the game without getting absolutly owned, but at the same time as it being a challenge, if you put it on hardcore the minute you play, i don't feel you get to know the game because you're to busy fighting off whatever the hardness in the game is :/
I play supereasy, and If I die too much, I hack the game to cheat. I remenber "Mission Cobra", a p0rn manga RPG, hacking that game to able enter high level areas whats lots of fun, and very good for my sexual life!.
Depends on the type of game. If it's a racing game then i'll probably go with easy to start off with. For a lot of fps's now I go with hard (especially console fps's). For everything else I usually go with normal.
The Max Payne games are the only games I've played all the way through on more than one difficulty level... most of the time I just stick with Normal. A few years ago I would have said Easy, but my skills have improved a little since then :rambo: .
Useualy play through once on easy to learn the game, once I'v done that I go to at least meduim, sometimes hard... however most RTSs I never get of the easiest seting.. I like em.. but I suck :flame:
games? usually the hardest option i can find... especially with recent crap games like far-cry or half-life 2 promising challanging AI and even on hardest mode they are piece of cake... i don't want to know how more boring those games would be on easy O_O
Depends on the genre, length of the game, if playing on an easier diff level blocks parts of the game (ie. an 80 hours rpg where you don't get to battle the final boss if you are on easy), etc.
I will usually go for Normal. Then if the game is good the hardest, but possible -for me-. I played Duke Nukem 64 on Damn I'm Good, but didn't in the PC version, I just found it to be too difficult.
I play most games on normal, but some games deserve to be played on higher difficulty settings. Like Far Cry or Thief (I played it on the hardest difficulty and it was great - you enjoy the levels much more)
i play it on hard/maniac because games always get harder as they go, so i figure if i start out at a higher level and learn from there at the get-go, i'll just pwn that much more.
i bet most people just say they play like a maniac :p.
i have to admit, i play on normal mostly.
but i know someone, whos really, really freaky. he plays games on easy with his dad and they allways cheat thru em, they have never actually played a game thru with a challange and without cheats.

Easy - Normal, since I like to get through a game and see its delights without any major hassles first.
I play my games on manic :O

Normal to start with, then hard.
normal, finish, delete. unless its one of the few good ones.
what cj said ^ easy / normal mainly
normal = no less, no more...
Normal, or if I feel like a more realistic experience, like with Call of Duty, Hard.
If it's Halo, It's Legendary only dammit.

Cheating Its Ok on Singleplayer.
Normal, though I play as a maniac :P j/k
I normaly play on normal if i am playing single player, but if im playing a cooporative game its mostly on mainic!(legendary on halo)
:D
maniac.. Like to give myself a bit of challenge. :D
I usually do Normal and Hard(maniac)
as hard as a game can offer!
It depends on the time of the game...
On RTS, it's Easy at the beggining, then Normal. On most of the others games, it's Normal at the beggining, then Hard (specially on FPS).
I play it on hard if there's alot more monsters (rather than just stronger monsters)

have fun first get owned later ;)
is there one easier than easy?
Maniac.
I tend to break alot of controllers by throwing them at the floor, from really frustrating and difficult games so I play on easy to avoid that :)
Super Maniac!!! Ok just pullin' yer leg, usually easy. (or super easy if I get owned. I suck!)
Usually on hard, but it's considered a profanation for me to not play quake 1 on nightmare.

Normal for me unless I find it's too hard or I've heard it's a hard game, then I put it on Easy.
I don't like doing Hard too much... I just wanna get through the game :P

always the hardes difficulty...i like challenge :D
There should be some kind of resistance, but you shouldn't be stuck in a place because it's too hard. So, quite often I play on normal or hard. ^^
Sorry, that was me... firefox logged me out :/.
What about people who don't play games :P

I play a lot of games, so i've become really good at them, so now i just skip straight to the hardest level so I can play them longer
Normal

Start easy, then ramp it up until i'm kickin' *** on super-maniac.

normal - hard..
mostly normal.. but i play quake on hard
Yeah, Normal. I prefer realism, and the normal setting should be the most realistic. I like it when enemy A.I. appears human by making mistakes, too.
hard-reetarded hard, I rarely get owned... I wipe out everything then I enjoy the sights :D
its no problem i play Super Maniac 8)
I play most games on normal, but some games deserve to be played on higher difficulty settings. Like Far Cry or Thief (I played it on the hardest difficulty and it was great - you enjoy the levels much more)

I like 2 play through on easy first just 2 get a feel 4 the game, and then I play through again at the next dificulty
i most play first easy then normal after that hard ... then finally i play hard
i bet most people just say they play like a maniac :p.
