As promised Zombie Panic: Source v1.5 is being released early 2009, in fact it's being released in the next couple days on January 28th! It is one of our biggest releases to date and will include a new player model, new weapon, new map, new features, and much much more. We've been working crazy hours, some of us pulling 20+ hour work days to make sure everything is at the quality expected of us.
Below we provided a video of our newest feature, the ZP:S Barricading System. We've also provided some map previews, player model previews, and more images of the barricading system with the working HUD display (Video didn't capture it). Also provided is our "Growing Changelog". As we put the finishing touches on everything, we'll reveal assets and changes available in v1.5, so be sure to check back regularly for updates!

Yah never enjoy zps much because always seem to be just running around because sick of camping this is going to make that worse but looks awesome will deffinitly get it again once out.

I just rly wan't to have AI zombies though.
Not having AI is what separates us from other mods, and from other zombie games. Half the appeal of this game is that you get to *be* the zombie menace, and utilize the horde mentality.
If you want AI controled zombies, I'm not sure why you play this game...

AWESOME!i love the idea of a baracading system :D!why not make it a breakable metal though?
I like it, makes me want to try the survivor side of the game, seriously, for once.

At least this would fix it so maps don't have to use unbreakable metal bars to bar in a door, and maybe make it so they can't prop block doors either. In one of the custom made maps, because there's a lack of barricades, one of the buildings has enough props for you to block the door.
This mod does everything right: Fun gameplay and easy to get into, nice graphics and most important: regular content updates. It would really deserve the 2008 Award.

I'm seriously loving this, good work ZP:S team! Just a heads up though: there are a few smoothing errors on the head of the hammer. Could be fixed very easily.

I agree that having players act as zombies is what separates you from all the other zombie-games. However, everyone is right about that getting stale sooner or later, on a map.
I like the objective based maps, though they don't involve enough teamplay to satisfy me. I don't want the game too become to complicated, but I want my actions to have some effect on the game.
You could start with some cutscenes from surveillance cameras. The zombies have better chances of staying low-profile when they destroy the cams, but at the same time that will give away their locations and leave a radar trace, which slowly fades out. So they quickly have to scatter afterwards. Maybe there could even be some follow-up-task to be completed, which will give them a bonus (power), if they survive it. You could also make players earn "triggers". So, if one team wins a trigger, by winning a map objective, they can take down parts of the other teams defenses (either by getting better gear like NV or Infrared), or by direct destruction of their hideout and its strongholds (by air strike, e.g.).
I'd also like it, if the zombies wouldn't only counter any human attacks, but would have objectives of their own, which can win them triggers to gain an advantage over humans. Of course you can win a game without using those, but they are great powerups and can save your team's *** in a situation; maybe make some evasive moves available, too (evasive action: flashbang, smoke-screen, etc.)
Overall ZP is a great game, but it's not diverse enough, yet. You could do much better than just barring things up in a room- And it wouldn't cost you much work at first, you just need a trigger-happy mapper and some animators. This could be the best Zombie-Mod ever, but you have to stay clear of that boring camping and barring yourself up in a room like a dead Kennedy.
Wow barricades?!!? Awsome!! Now the humans can be more tactical! But of course, the barricades won't last long. So all you have to do is:
1: Pick a very good spot to barricade yourself and your team.
2: Make sure all team members are at the barricaded area.
3: Make sure no one is out of ammo. Get some ammo first before anything.
4: Keep the barricade unharmed! Too many zombies means more damage to the barricades, so watch out! And don't shoot them either!!
Way to complicate simple gameplay. It's fine the way it is.
When you mess with it, you will realize it is not complicated at all. We kept it very simple, and the number of barricades in our levels is pretty low. It is one of those things that is very easy to mess with but also has enough versatility to warrant mastering it as a gameplay skill. We kept the whole system very intuitive. You'll see.
and when is SWAT MODEL AND MAPS WEAPONS E.T.C WILL BE ADDED CAUSE I HOPE THESE ????? are what i am talking about

We are still putting the final touches on this, and will send it to Valve here soon. No telling when they will actually release it, but we will be updating our twitter feed the second it happens!
