Post news Report RSS Zeitgeist, The Arsenal - Part II, the MP 18

Second Weapon Update for Zeitgeist. MP 18 or "Maschinenpistole 1918" with drum magazine. Iron sights, animations, sounds.

Hello once again, thanks for your voting efforts - we made it into the Top 100 once again. As promised, this is the second "Zeitgeist Arsenal" update, the MP 18 in a 1926 version.

Used by millions in the trenches of the Great War, this weapon - originally introduced in 1918 - became the most infamous symbol of automatic destruction. One of the topics in the International Peace Treaty that is now, 1934, going to be discussed in London, is to banish all automatic man-carried weapons from the battlefields of the future.

Only few diplomats disagreed ahead of the conference; they all know what kind of force this 9mm parabellum calibre weapon can develop in the hands of an experienced soldier...

These are some ingame-screenshots featuring the MP in normal and ironsight mode.

The sounds for shooting and reloading are still subject to improvements by our sound engineering department.

Next week's update: The Arsenal, Part III - The 'Colt'.

Best regards to all of you, the Zeitgeist-Dev-Team

P.S.: Christmas is coming closer and closer, and so is the end of phase II of the MotY awards. Are you sure you've though of everyone (and everything)? ; ).

Oooh, well done!

I've always wanted to see the MP-18 implemented into a game or mod. Definitely one of my favorites :)

Bravo.

I can see that our dear protagonist is not in favor of said banishment

beside the weapon i really enjoy the new surroundings seen on these screenshots - awesome to see not so "citylike" parts, where people actually live and ofc that glasshouse-thing.

Dead serious.

:D

For the english-only people:

Literally, it's "Peace, Joy, Pancakes", and the meaning is similar to "Everything is hunky-dory". A bit of irony needs to be placed here and there, life just doesn't work without it.
