As weeks turn into months, we are finally ready to make some more announcements.
Fortress Forever will be released on Steam March 27th
On Friday, Fortress Forever will be available to download (for free) on Steam.
Fortress Forever is now open source on Github
The code, scripts, and maps of Fortress Forever are publicly available and open to contributions. Check out the Contributing to Fortress Forever page to see how you can help.
Additional resources:
Fortress Forever has a new website
fortress-forever.com has been redesigned and updated to be more relevant to the current state of the game.
The dedicated server files are publicly available

ahhh yissss
such awesome news!
Oh good, the REAL TF2. Excellent.
what do u mean?
you cant call this the real TF2 because this isnt made by the same people its based on it.
Thats like if someone made a game based on Starcraft you cant just call it the real Starcraft 2 because its not, its not made by the same people its just something someone made based on it.
Implying the hat fest, circlejerk trading idle server clusterfuck that TF2 has become can even be called Team Fortress 2.
Stop getting this worked over what people say on the internet.
This is great news! Was awesome to be part of the beta.
FINALLY!
This mod was so amazing, and now it's on steam... Finally! X)
Btw, you should really update it to Source2009... That Engine you're using is really old.
yea its a matter of having the man power to do it and they don't unfortunately. there was plans to upgrade it to latest verison of source 2013 or something. it never panned out they made that project open source so it could still happen. :)
(this is as far as i understand might not be all right im not a dev.)
We like the name "Fortress Trevor".
Fortress for Trevor
One of my favorite mods of ALL time!
congrats on steam release, agree on the engine upgrade if possible, netcode makes speed running that much easier to avoid all damage, defense relies on AOE damage as bullet reg is average :(
TF2 taught me to duck and cover in one week
TFC taught me to bunnyhop in less than a hour
0/10 would play - no hats, taunts, and phlogistonator
