The beta-testers are now a little over half way through testing the WoP Standalone, and things remain on target for April. Those already familiar with the PadMod may have a slight advantage over others, notwithstanding the myriad of changes, however they too will have many new things to discover, when they first come to play the maps. Indeed, we think the Standalone is good enogh that we expect no one want to play the mod version again.

As far as what maps will be included? For sure, ENTE's PadAttic, ENTE's PadGarden, ENTE's PadKitchen, ENTE's PadLibrary, ENTE's PadShip, Harm's Diner, Harm's Hütte, MopAn's Jail, Kai's TrashMap and one of Glowstar's maps, Anteroom, Backyard or Cabin should also make the release in time. If that doesn't seem a lot, just remember not everything is planned for the first release. Also, don't forget that WoP comes with bot support for 7 different game types, so that's plenty to keep everyone happy for starers.

It's very hot indeed.

@ Jaronimo, I think, on top of all the upgrades they have done, you must remember that the players in these maps are tiny, right? Like little action figures, so the maps are actually fairly large and the BSP or Meshes are bigger than they appear from these screenshots. Also, they just know their stuff when it comes to lighting and texturing.

Yes, the Q3 engine is incredibly strong, It handles the HUGE maps with no problem at all. As a expert WoP player (been playing this *game* since it was on Q3 back in 2004). There are no other lilliputs maps ever to come as close as these padmaps. The scale is true to life, i guarantee you as soon as you load your first map you will say "WTF, how am i supposed to navigate or get up there? O.O" YOU ARE JUST 3 inches TALL ONLY! ;> The maps contain excellent ambience also like in the garden, you can hear nature and modern things *I would say specifics but i don't think i am allowed to tell* but the ambience is amazing.

PVT Johnson, you must be itching for the day of release but you truly won't be disapointed and yes you will be playing far over 3am XD. The action of this game is extremely addictive, if you look at the weapons on the mod website and the effects, all these colours flying everywhere coupled with colourful powerups makes for impressive eye candy that WILL keep you hooked.

My opinion from MOD to Standalone is a revolutionary one, theres just so much more things in the standalone, more or less EVERYTHING has been tweaked or overhauled completly. Everything gells together and feels right which is a big key for a game's success. I guess there will be some people questioning whether it is balanced, my answer is yes, WoP has been worked on for SOO long that things are now tweaked right. It works, it will rule, you will see, soon. GG

is that the cheezy PS flare effect applied on the first image? or is that "really" ingame?

That flare, was coded by the leadcoder, it is in some of the padmaps, thus in-game, YES :D. All the effects you see in any screenshot, are real.
