I'm currently working on the biggest "update" ever, completely rebuilding the md from it's base. It will have plenty of nations (more than double amount compared to the previous release) tons of NPCs, new towns, castles, villages, races, parties, etc, with the new scenes Akathir made for the mod + some from TLD mod.
Now I would like to ask for help: could someone please make a proper Middle-Earth world map for the upcoming release? I would like about twice or three times as big as the current one, with the well known rivers, forests, etc, and remember: only Mordor should be desert (as the sand texture is replaced by the black ash texture). However, you don't need to care about the towns, castles and villages, I will place them myself ;)
Please contact me if you're willing to help!
Thanks for any volunteers in advance :)

Hehe wondering what the new nations are? I think I'll give a hint, maybe someone will be more inspired to make a good map ;)
If you are a friend of the books like me, love Third Age Total War mod like me, and think Divide and Conquer mod is the best badass submod ever like me, then you will like what you'll read below :)
So the new version will have the following factions:
-Kingdom of Gondor led by Steward Denethor II
-Kingdom of Rohan led by King Théoden
-Mordor led by Grisnákh
- of course led by Dark F**king Lord Sauron :D
-Isengard led by Saruman
-Harad led by Chieftain Khuzaymah (from DaC)
-Angmar led by Agandaúr
-Erebor led by Dáin II Ironfoot
-Dwarven Clans (of The Blue Mountains and the remnants in the Misty Mountains) led by Clan Leader Gór (DaC)
-Eriador (both northmen and dunedain as in Third Age vanilla) led by Chieftain Aragorn
-Galadhrim Elves led by Lord Celeborn
-Kingdom of Rhovanion (merging Dale and Dorwinion known from DaC - as it would be funny to have Dale rule over half of the North alone...) led by King Bain
-High Elves led by Lord Elrond (including both Rivendell and Falas elves)
-Orc of the Misty Mountains led by High Chieftain Uglag (from Third Age/DaC)
-Rhún led by Lóke-Khan Borthand (Third Age/Dac)
-Variags led by Khan Arkish (Dac)
-Wildlands (merging Enedwaith and Dunland) led by Chieftain Yaghtak (Third Age)
-Vale of Anduin led by Beorn (I would take a good alternative suggestion though, as Beron is rather a lonely creature - e.g.: XY, Marshall of the Éothéod)
-Woodland Realmy led by King Thranduil
That's all guys, hope you like it. You may have noticed I'm heavily influenced by Third Age Total War mod and Divide and Conquer submod, both I don't feel ashamed by that as both of them is a masterpiece. Still, I rely a lot on my owm concepts and the books. The Hobbit movies don't deserve to be mentioned, the LotR movies visuals of course will be included.
+ one more load of info: every faction will have some of a special "patrol" warband, these are the following:
-Gondor: Rangers of Ithilien (as seen in the books & movies)
-Rohan: Riders of the Crimson Stallion (idea by me, elite riders of the Mark clad in red)
-Mordor: Khámul's Shadow Sentiels (as seen in DaC)
-Isengard: Wargpack of the White Hand (as seen in books & movies)
-Harad: Castamir's Chosen Warband (remnants of the defected Númenórians as seen in DaC at Umbar's unit roster)
-Angmar: Rhúdaur Chosen Warband
-Erebor: Stonefoot Warmaidens (idea by me, dwarven women wielding bows - might be changed to Sons of the Fallen as seen in DaC)
-Dwarven Clans: Hammers of Gundabad (as seen in Third Age)
-Eriador: Grey Company Sentiels (as seen in books & Third Age)
-Galadhrim: Sindar Huntresses (idea by me, medium armored elit female elven archers with sabres)
-Rhovanion: Earls of the Vinter-Court (elite heavy horsemen as seen in DaC)
-High Elves: Imlardis Outriders
-OotMM: Bolg's Champions (as seen in DaC)
-Rhún: Loke Guards (some sort of "Loke-series" warrios, might be changed to Wainriders later)
-Variags: Brotherhood of the Lance (as seen in DaC)
-Wildlands: Beastslayers of the Moot (DaC mixture idea)
-Anduin: Beornings
-Woodelves: Chosen Rangers
Oh and about the Fellowship of the Ring starting with you: not anymore. Aragorn is the leader of Eriador, Boromir leads Gondorians to victory, Gimli is an Erebor lord, and Legolas is home with his papa :D
Still; Gandalf, Frodo, Samwise, Merry, Pippin will be avaiable among the other 78 NPCs ;)
Now, where is that map? :D
This is awesome news, my question is after fully completing the map, will there be a change in the units, or are you satisfied with the current ones?
Since Khamul was an easterling I would not suggest having a Khamul unit as mordors patrol. Why not a Barad-Dur unit, or Minas Morgul or something within the realm of Mordor, why not leave the Khamul unit to the Easterlings?
Will Umbar be included?
Great job man, your work is legendary. :)
Dain_Ironfoot_II Well that's because Mordor controlls Dol Guldur, that patrol type will spawn there and will haunt the inhabitants of Mirkwood :)
I see your point. What about patrols near the black gate? Will they also be Khamul units or do you have something else in mind?
There will be a "normal" orc patrol, which will oversee the area between Ithilien and Mirkwood.
Aha, smart cause having a Khamul's unit in Ithilien would not make sense.
So you will be able to hire 78 characters to your party?
No, the mentioned ones + 78
ah finally a fix to those weird map glitches. cant wait to be able to play it!
Give that man a map!
I'm sorry that I can't help but I want to express my gratitude for keeping on working on this mod although some unappreciative idiots kept flaming on and on.
Keep up the work and take as much time as you need.
Love from Austria. :)
great job good luck

Mordor should be led by the Witch King in my opinion and the Dark Lord should have some type of special quest or event to even appear.
I wish that someone will help you with this map !!And you have done such a great job so far!
Good luck!
I've no doubt you have found someone already, what with the amount of anticipation we have for this mod. One thing that could be possible, but would probably require approval of the TLD team, would be to rip their map and expand the playable borders. There is room there, but I'm not exactly sure how much room. Just an idea for ya.
Keep up the great work as always, friend. Maausan avhe ukavaruk ukhine brighav par mod.
Will there be a way to revive Arnor this time around? Really wanna revive Arnor without attacking the elves and taking Fornost XD. Plus, not to mention the Arnor outlaws
Bump this ****!HELLYEAH! Make this fine man a map!
