This year's Independent Games Festival was a little more independent than normal: it was the first to include a category for mods. Seventeen mods made it to the finalist list, but only one from each of the four game categories could win...
The 2006 IGF Mod Competition winners are:
Dystopia
Path Of Vengeance
Rose Of Eternity - Chapter 1
Last Man Standing Coop
Congratulations to them all ! :D
On my opinion, Dystopia was kinda boring. But thats just me.
Other mods are fine :)
why dystopia? the mod lacks fun gameplay, its just run and gun futuristic style...
I still dont understand this Dystopia madness....its an ok mod
I don't understand it either, and I'm sad that The Hidden didn't win the competition.
I have to agree with EvilErnie and l33t but im not surprised they won
last man standing deserves it
well done to all the winners i guess
Grats to all the mod teams
Well done all. I'm also a bit hidden didn't make it, but Dystopia is deserving nonetheless. Well done.
Not a fan of the mod.
Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, you are all deserving of a prize in my eyes.
Is imo better than Dystopia.
For each game category, there was a person on the staff who helped finger the winner, though I'm not sure how many other judges also weighed in alongside ourselves.
I helped with the UT2004 category. I was pretty firmly behind Soulkeeper and Path of Vengeance, so I'm glad one of them pulled through for the win.
The mods were chosen by specialists from the Mod DB staff, as well as designers and industry leaders from a wide variety of fields. The entire list of judges is available here.
Thanks guys, glad you all enjoy playing dystopia
I love Dystopia and think it's the freshest game for a long time. Well deserved winners in my eyes.
