On April 8, Windows XP extended support ends. It also ended the support of Starcraft, Office 2003, Red Alert 2, and other 1995-2004 games. Because of this, Windows update no longer receive update patches. Users can still use Windows XP, but will be more vulnerable to viruses and other security threats. Microsoft Security Essentials can still protect Windows XP from viruses until 2015. 2 months before the end of support, I moved to Windows 7.

Starcraft will not support Vista, 7 or 8 because of the color error unless they download a color fix.

Why don't they do back ports as in Linux?
That way newer versions of programs would have been able to run on xp, like net framework.

StarCraft worked on my Windows 8 computer, first game i installed and it ran like normal, i didn't need any color fix, i think i updated to Windows 8.1 (witch is a million times better than Windows 8) before i installed the game, my brothers old Windows 7 didn't run the game so well.
