Very nice. I was longing for detailed information and direction. This sounds quite promising guys. If this is published as a paid product I will happily buy a copy for myself and friends. However I would assume it may take a little while longer if so.

If not I would still be happy to get a free copy anyway!

It was a really interesting report. So far, I like the current orientation because it seems to be very polished. I think you guys are doing a great job.
I would even pay for it, if you decide to "sell" your addon (since it's not a "simple" mod but a new experience).

From the vid you've done a great job on vegetation and the audio choice for the swamp map shown. A really enhanced rebuild.

FYI, for those who are wondering where the "Isn't GSC closed?" question comes from, it's from a report by a Ukrainian news site ( Gamasutra.com ). Said report was and is being reinforced by former members of GSC Game World ( Pcgamer.com ).

Great update! It cleared up a lot of questions and the worries I had about the game. I thought GSC was a money-sucking vampire that turned into a joke, but now I see theres nothing to worry about.

Keep up the good work

When you say 30 levels do you mean outdoor maps? If not how many outdoor maps are we talking about?

I'll happily buy it when its released either way!

I'm pretty sure that includes underground/indoor maps too. This might be outdated but it's worth a look:

Guys, I'm delighted that you are going to be making revenue from this at release.
I'm studying games development myself, having been following this mod since around 2009/10 and seeing the sheer amount of work you have put into this, you deserve to make money on it.
I might even send you guys money for a round of beers if you make release before summer 2014!

'Authorized', Dez? Is that indication of some success with GSC? I'm not anonymous, by the way - I'm steelyglint (GSC & Steam), or Red Schuhart on the old PS site.

Awesome news! I'm so happy that you guys posted incoming news about your team, overall game progress and some cool details. Thoose new tree textures look astonishing! Looks more or less better than Call of Pripyat, especially the vegetation in Cordon, right in the rookie camp, unbelivably astonishing! Looks so dense and realistic, now you can really say it's a green forest zone, that depicts the real exclusion zone around Chernobyl in real life! I'm simply amazed and excited that i read this, thanks for posting info to us fan's, it means the world for us that keep an eye on this project like no other out there!

Just, a quick question that bothers me to know: Will you also update weapon textures to new hi-quality ones, or will you just use the old vanilla ones? The vanilla Obokan always looked bad and low quality, well most of them vanilla weapons look like that, even in Call of Pripyat. So will there be changes in weapon textures, or will you just stick the vanilla ones?

I just hope they add the russian audio language, and english dialogue text. Best combination IMO, i just hate the english audio language in all three games....

" So, you aren't remaking “the old, forgotten S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” any longer?
We have to make the game less hardcore and give more hints to the players."

I hope there will be a lot of options to turn this "hold-my-hand" options off. The old stalker looked and was hardcore. Also, The Arena sucks :p. But I just hope, if this becomes retail, it will be on steam. And the ultimate dream, a nice retail release, like I said, with a nice collector's edition, but that's dreaming I guess :).

"As a little insider info, we can tell you that there will be also a comic story published as a part of the project. Definitely one worth watching :)." => Awsome!

I just hope this project doesn't radical change course, and stays your guys "dream"! We all know here what we want of the ultimate Stalker game ;).. Also wondering about the story, since it's a side story now, and not a "re-imagining" of the original story?

"I hope there will be a lot of options to turn this "hold-my-hand" options off."

Agreed. I'm hoping that the GSC-demanded "make it easier" isn't nearly as bad as even Metro:LL, let alone other modern shooters, along with having a "hardcore" option either present or added as a mod.
