Just a quick question on the more immediate future of the mod.

Whilst it's obvious that my progress on the mod has slowed quite a bit, I'm still wanting to work on numerous features for people to use. I really love seeing videos people make of the mod in action and the fantastic situations they come up with for battles and missions.

So my question, as you've probably noticed is this;

What features do you most want to see next?

It's likely that I'll eventually (hopefully) get all of the suggested features into the mod. Excluding any ridiculous ones obviously, but it would be great to know what supporters actually want added sooner rather than later.

I was essentially planning on working on either

  1. More structures / props
  2. More vehicles

But if people want more guns or something instead I'll get to that first.

So please post any suggestions, requests or delusional speculations into the comments here, please.

I think what would interest me most right now would be more vehicles, especially aircraft. It would be awesome to be able to fly in a bunch of glorious Terran soldiers in on galaxies and crush some spandex wearers.

I definitely want to get the aircraft in, though I'll likely wait until I've gotten some more land vehicles in first to be sure I know what I'm doing. Personally I'm terrible with aircraft in MoW, don't even know how to get them to land haha.

Most people are going to want vehicles, though me personally, I like the props :D

Did you ever add the sounds for TR and NC guns? If not then I'd absolutely love that (immersion reasons) as well as proper particle effects for VS plasma. Vehicles and structures are also important of course but I like the minor stuff :D

There's only one TR sound in atm. The weapon sounds shouldn't be too hard to add and I can probably get them in with the next big update. As for particle effects, I have no idea how to create things like that so no idea if/when they'll be implemented. Bullet traces should be easier to get in there though at this point I haven't even looked at how to do that yet.

So frist,can you post it on steam workshop? Second: Yes vehicles are a good thing, and good is that we can mix this mod with few another.

I'll only upload it to the Steam workshop once I'm happy with a certain amount of content. The mod is currently still in a sort of Alpha stage. Plus I've never uploaded anything to the workshop before so I would have to find out how its updating system functions and such.

I do have plans to make the mod multiplayer compatible, though I'm likely going to wait a little bit longer until there are some more features available before moving onto it, vehicles on the other hand seem like they're wanted the most so far.

Whilst I'm probably the same when it comes to making maps, I have talked to someone here on mod DB and I'll be including 2 of their maps in the next update. As a sort of community map I guess. That's also an invitation for anyone to submit maps that could be included in the mod (your name will be included in the maps name like so "mapname by xxx"

Id love the addition of the barricades and more props and defenses. If your wondering which barricades, they are around the long bridge outpost on Esamir, the name of the base escapes me, I havent PS2d in like 2 years. But the barricades are all around the cap point.

They would be a great addition for making bases look more like actual PS2 bases.

Also, get the vehicles working. Add guns to the Galaxy and stuff. Keep up the amazing work on this mod.

I am slowly adding more and more props now with each update, both for functionality like cover and as decoration and detail. I am trying to grab ones I feel will be most useful early like barricades but I'm also trying to add props in a more organised order, so I don't lose track of what I have and haven't added already.

And I'm doing my best with vehicles, not started on any aircraft yet though.

Also, what is up with the Facilitywall props? It seems they dont really offer much protection. I built a set of walkways towards the top of some of the walls and its like the upper section of the wall offers like little protection. Bullets legit penetrate it.

And that "Bunkerext" prop, the railings and walls on that have huge invisible walls that make using them not very effective, since guys cant shoot off them very well.

The Galaxy Prop and alot of the vehicles seem to have huge invisible bubbles around them, cant even get close to them.

As for the Harrasser, is there any way you could add some actual armor values for it?

Also, is there anyway at somepoint you could add the MAX suits as an infantry soldier? They would be fun to play with.

Both the facilitywall and the vehicle props were added before I was using actual cubes and cylinders as volume properties and instead would copy the model itself and turn that into the volume, but instead of making the collision exactly in line with every part of the prop, it would just create an obstacle volume in a square reaching out to the maximum parameters of the model. For example, say the length of the galaxy from back to front was 6 meters and width from wing to wing was 8 meters, it would create a box around the object that was 6x8 in order to cover the whole thing. Although what caused the facility wall to have a hole in the top corner of it I'm not really sure, but it should be fixed in the next update now. In regards to fixing the collision on the prop vehicles, I may go back and fix it if I'm low on things to work on, but right now I feel it's more important to work on adding the new features before adjusting how close people can get to the static vehicles.

With the bunker, I couldn't really find any major issue with the railings, but the walls have invisible barriers because of the collision volumes below them, I had to add obstacle volumes to the foundations underneath the bunker as well, so that it could still be used as a solid object on more rough terrain rather than having any parts where the lower walls are exposed be completely walk-through.

Can you elaborate a bit more an the Harasser armor? I haven't tested around with it a huge amount against every single weapon, is it too weak? Too strong? Or do you mean to just have something editable like in the tanks? At the moment it uses the default stats defined in the car.ext script if I'm not mistaken so I can understand if it's currently fairly weak.

And finally, I have been thinking about MAX units, I definitely would like to add them though I'm still not exactly sure how I would go about it. At the moment the only effective way I could think of doing it would to add have them like a normal infantry unit, just with much higher health and have their arm mounted weapon be held like a pistol, but fire like a chaingun/rocket depending on their loadout.

Harrasser armor, yes something we can edit. Right now it just says "Armor_medium" args: 1.0 or something. I tried to edit the armor and stuff myself, but kept getting a "Define" found error for like "Armor_Car" and "Armor_medium".

Currently Harassers take infinite amounts of small arms fire, but pretty much get raped vs AT stuff. Not saying that isnt how it should be, but it just makes them kinda derpy to play around with. I havent made any missions using them vs armor.

As for MAX suits, yeah, just as an infantry man with alot of health, I think maybe 2000 would be good. Maybe if you can find a way to add armor to that, so they get the effects of armor added onto that 2000 health would be nice.

As for the weapons, the TR is a Minigun, NC is a Shotgun and the VS is a laser rifle type thing.

Currently the Harasser is marked as a car, so it takes its setting from the file "car.ext" which doesn't define armor setting individually but marks all cars with the same values. In order to change its armor I would need to redefine it as a tank or something else. Changing the armor will do very little to change how effective small arms are against it anyway, as armor ratings effect what projectiles can pierce through the model and hitting the body of the vehicle will do nothing with small arms whether they pierce all the way through it or not, whereas destroying the engine with small arms, which can currently be done already, will disable the vehicles movement.

I'm going to continue thinking about MAX units, they aren't a priority to add just yet so I won't make any decisions right now. And I do know what their weapons are, it's just that the exporter I use sometimes can't export some models and I may have to use another max weapon as a substitute.

I've said once before that I'd really love to add PS1 vehicles. The issue is that I have no idea if/where I could get a hold of the models and textures.

I personally think the size of the guns is quite reasonable atm, just that the way weapons are held in MoW makes some weapons look awkward.

It would be awesome to make the prowler able to shoot 2 times before reloading(maybe and makings the projectiles less powerful of course).

And yeah I'm sure people would love a deployed prowler too(with fast reload speed of course).
