THIS IS AN OLD ARTICLE, BACK WHEN THE TEAM WERE USING THE SLENDERMAN. THIS HAS BEEN KEPT FOR ARCHIVAL PURPOSES.

Hello chaps, and chapettes. Welcome to another weekly update for the mod focused around everyone's favorite man in a suit, Slender: Source. What's new for this week that we can show off? Not too much really, so please bear with me as I attempt fleshing this out. Nobody wants to read something that contains like two paragraphs. Flesh is fun...don't take that sexually.

Join us in welcoming Crazyb2000 "Alfred" to the team. He's an amazing person, and sounds like TotalBiscuit whom is a famous YouTube commentator. So, that's awesome. He'll be contributing in the departments of voice acting (he's fabulous at it), character design (orgasm inducing work), and is going to be doing some of the programming as well. This guy is awesome, and it shows in his work. I wish to snuggle him for an eternity until the world is destroyed.

The teaser trailer for Slender: Source, and is made by our Project Leader, Justin. It's his first attempt at diving into this kind of thing so all constructive criticism is appreciated. Don't be an asshole, and never fear. Our amazing Promo Designer will be making more ARG videos, a teaser trailer as well, and the official game trailer for release. He makes amazing stuff, for example the title video at the end of the teaser above.

An exam table made by one of our Character Artist's, Ynek (Kenny). You'll see it in the hospital map, of course. Another prop has been made for the hospital and it's below.

Just a little scene set up as an example/concept by our Prop Artist "Treizee". It's looking pretty swell, and he's also showing off this cool little prop.

These props need to be textured, but they're looking good. You'll be able to see them in the hospital when you're walking about, and we're hoping to have a large variety of custom props, and everything else. So keep a look-out for that.

Plus, a couple textures from Rizzchit to show off to you guys. Take a gander at them. You'll see them in the hospital map, which is being designed by Tucker Small (Farenhiet) as come a long, and is looking extremely gorgeous.

Also, here's our current idea for the "Slender Sickness" idea, which is made by our Sound Effects Artist, shrunkenhero. Take a listen at this link, and let us know what you think. It's still an early development idea! - Newgrounds.com

Some Slenderman concept art that's been doodled by our artist "BCHS". I really love the look of the art, and they've also done some other awesome drawing/paint-work. Keep an eye out for this person's work. It's amazing.

So, we have some sort of building made on the forest map. Can you guess what it is? It's the Red Tower from Marble Hornets! And, as you can probably guess since it's the forest map this was also designed by Christian (WitheredGryphon).

SOME QUESTIONS

Someone wrote:We've been getting some questions lately of people asking if they can play Slender: Source with a cracked version of HL2. The answer?

No. We do not support piracy in anyway. You can buy HL2 (fairly cheap) to be sure you'll be able to run the mod. Our Project Lead doesn't own HL2 and he can run the mod perfectly fine. Your best bet is to have at-least on of the multiplayer Source games like Counter Strike: Source, or Day Of Defeat: Source.

Thanks for following the mod's development, and we hope you all continue to follow the progress of the mod.

Project Lead

I believe tf2 did something with their shaders to get the ilussion of pyroland in their maps maybe you can do the same with people, with slender sickness, though this may not help at all but its worth a shot unless you have something else in mined? anyways great idea

In the trailer, I was hoping to see the slenderman npc. But that's okay. After all, it's only the first trailer!

Haha that fitting song !
BTW: for the required games, i think TF2 is enough to play a source mod.

That was actually a great teaser trailer. Can't wait to see more from you guys. I'm not a horror fan, but this mod looks pretty good.

If you're looking at him, you're quickly getting slendersickness...which is something you want to avoid.

Since Valve made TF2 free to play you only need source sdk base or source sdk base 2007 (in case of an Orangebox/EP2 mod) to play a mod.
In fact this means the only thing you need is steam installed in order to be able to install the sdk base from the tools tab.

The only exception would be, if the mod uses any HL2/Ep1/Ep2 content that is not included in the sdk base.
But that shouldn't be an issue here.

We're trying to make it mainly custom content, so you won't require anything besides the base.

You should make team mates all spawn at different point away from each other, so that you might get freaked out by the sight of your own team mate.
