Announcement

Hotfix 1 reloaded

Fixes companion dialogue issue
Fixes cyrus ward save issue

Somewhat fixes lord bandit quest issue (it often works but sometimes it fails like before so I recommend saving before asking a lord for a quest until I have figured out the last variable)

Vampire starts with items
Fixed some broken scenes and arenas (but not all arenas, I recommend keeping cheats on so you can auto kill tournament combatents who spawn in dodgy locations)

Fixed village elder bug
Many small troop stat and equipment fixes
Wood elf walker fixed

I have made these fixes but I have not been able to test them due to being away with only my laptop. Hopefully they work as intended:

Mounts do not get the same combat skill bonus as their rider

You now get relation penalty for attacking kingdom patrols

Defections no longer occur


Gsanders/Phosphor has also been at full throttle making changes:

Wages reduced slightly for mercenaries
Slightly higher average pay for prisoners when selling at barkeep
Slight increase in maximum party size calculation

Increased garrison and lord party size
Increased party prisoner limit slightly
Compassionate lords do not attack farmers or raid villages
Auto-calc bonus for high level troops
Auto-calc kills fewer high level troops
Slightly improved rewards for quests

Slightly adjusted space at normal town merchants
Companions slightly add to party morale as more companions are hired
Lowered the cost of village improvements
Slightly increased number of items for sale in town

You can no longer recruit troops for free

Smoother curve for buying and selling in bulk, which really adds up quickly


Romancing female lords, vassals, and female players marrying male lords now as in Diplomacy* (untested)

The ability to zoom in and out after toggling camera mode with the End key is restored*
mini map is removed. It still exists as a part of the backspace view orders mode, but otherwise is removed.




This hotfix is not game save compatible.

There will be another hotfix in a few days (earliest weekend) but we cannot guarantee that it will be game save compatible. Please bear this in mind if you would rather not keep restarting your game it may be worth waiting and seeing. The next hotfix will include all these fixes as well if you would rather wait.

All other issues will be addressed in later patches

Greetings Warsword Fans

We are happy to be able to release the next update of warsword conquest. Much has changed from the last version and we hope you enjoy the changes and keep an eye out for updates about the next update which we hope to get out later in the year.


First of all I would like to thank Del for creating the mod and all he has done to get it to where it is today. He has had to stand down as mod leader due to a lack of time but he still plans to be around when he can and he saved the day during these final weeks by fixing a lot of the modelling issues. Without his help we would have had to cut a considerable percentage of the new models but thankfully his know how has meant that every new model we wanted in has made it to release.


Many thanks to gsanders (phospor1) for his innovative ideas and attention to detail which has added a lot to warsword and has opened new avenues which we will continue to explore. He has also done wonders to help streamline the mod and make it run as easily on systems as it can.


Massive thanks goes to Jargon Darot for the countless new scenes which have been added to the mod which have really made the mod come alive and added a great touch of authenticity and uniqueness to the factions. Thanks also to Captain Melon who has also made excellent contributions to the new scenery.


A big thanks to Dankmar (orcs, goblins, lizardmen, vampire counts) and Articcactus (Wood Elves) who have contributed to this update as freelance modellers and have allowed us to refresh many more factions than we initially intended and have also allowed us to fill most of the map with new factions. Their contribution to this update has made a massive difference at a critical time.


Also a big thank you to Polloio for being ever present on both modddb and taleworlds doing invaluable work communicating with our players and those interested in development. He also included some great new character creation options as well.


Thank you to all of those whose work has helped contribute to warsword over the years and you can see all of these in the credits.


Finally thank you to the community for following and supporting the mod. Thank you for your patience during the difficult times and kind words and encouragement along the way.


Overview

Warsword Conquest is a total conversion of warbands mount and blade 1.168 based on the warhammer fantasy world by Games workshop.
You can see a greater detail of the new changes for this release in the articles on the modddb website or in the changelog file in the mod root.

There are some known issues which we are releasing the mod with such as faction leaders having the wrong banners, skill reporting being bugged and that script error still happening (albeit less frequently). We plan to tackle those things in a subsequent patch but we are not going to let these things delay the release plan.


The main features of the mod are as follows. 18 factions to join or fight these are :-
Empire, Lizardmen, Tomb Kings, Badlands Goblins, Pirates, Orc, Dwarfs, Bretonnia, Chaos,
Dark Elves, High Elves, Araby, Skaven, Kislev, Beastmen, Nippon, Vampire Counts, Wood Elves.


There are lots of new armours and weapons to purchase in the merchant shops
Each faction has its own troop types and lords which are close to their warhammer armies.
Big monsters to hire or fight including Trolls, Ratogres, Ogres, kroxigors and Ushabti.

The ability to become a player character of every faction race in the game and now halflings.
All new character creation system, bring a warhammer background to your character.
Item Race Restrictions, Player can only wear items which relate to their race.
The player has the chance to obtain magical weapons and armour for themselves.
New map of the old world.
Start on map straight away no starting fight or mission.
Visit, destroy or take over a total of 48 Towns, 109 castles, 216 villages.
Fight bandits including forest goblins, ninjas, amazons and undead.
Large bandit armies can also spawn on the map.
Factionalized merchants sell race related items.
Factionalized mercenaries, each faction will have a pool of different mercenaries to hire.
All new mercenaries including Ogre Leadbelcher, Alcatani Fellowship, Braganzas Besieger, Tichi Huichi Raiders, Mengils Manflayer, Night Goblins, Witch Elves and many more.
83 companions to hire (28 with backstory, 55 generic).
Sell prisoners to tavernkeeper.
Revamped tournaments with special tournament characters and teams. Each faction now has their own mount for the tournaments (apart from dwarf and pirate) and each faction has their own unique set of tournament weapons.

Revamped economy and trading to make merchant builds viable and to make investments and trade runs more lucrative and worth the time required.
Faction patrols around their lands from small foraging parties to large patrols.
Each town and village has correct walkers for faction.
Factionalized Farmers and village defenders, now correct for faction
Villages now produce recruits of owner faction and changes recruit type when taken over.
All new scenes to bring the warhammer world alive.
Ability to change player kingdom troop race when you own a kingdom. Join any battle and choose what side to fight on.

Death cam and battle continues.
Sea Battles and Sea Bandits.
Pre-Battle Orders & Deployment.
Troop Formations.

You must contact Nameless Warrior for permission to release a sub mod and send a list of the changes you have made in your sub mod.
All of the Warsword Conquest resources including models, textures, scenes and anything else the team has made for the mod can only be used for a sub mod of Warsword Conquest unless express permission is given.
You must have a link to Warsword conquest on your opening page and state that it is a sub mod for Warsword conquest.
Please do not ask for the module system as we will not be releasing it.

Nice mod but have to write down few bugs I've found.

1) Companions... All of those I met had wrong dialoges... it didn't make much sense.

2) Arena: Not sure if it's only in arena (didn't notice on battlefield) but many time those dead bodies have bugged mesh, for example their arm is stretched across whole arena.

3) I never seen such sea battle before, but every time I tried it, it kills about 5-10 my troops at the beginning. Maybe they drowned (not sure) but they are just dying and the ship's model is quite a mess... even I when I try to walk around usually end up under the ship.

... btw I've seen shurikens with att about 40 at Nippon mercenaries... is it posible to buy them? Haven't found it in any of Nippon cities.

Thank you for the report.

1) Something must have went wrong in dialogue compilation at an unspecified time between two days ago and Yesterday, as all dialogues are now a mess...in our defese, it wasn't like this in the test versions.

2)That's a sad problem of Warband engine: happened in native, can happen in mods.

3) Naval battles are similar to Brytenwalda and Viking Conquest, where ships first approach and then the boarding starts. We'll get another look into it ;)

To be honest, while I do enjoy the mod, the companion talk is hillarious "hi im Groknak, Hi im Bug, Hi im... " from same chars :p

Like I said before in a message, you guys might wanna consider something like bitbucket, so you can add tickets, mark them as resolved and so on, to keep track of bugs and improvements. Unless you've got something like that already. It really makes things easier to keep track of.

I've seen that with other troops at night as well. It seems that some parts of the models don't get "shadowed" correctly in night battles. A couple of my orcs had the same thing, but any skin that was showing from under their armor was bright green while everything else was dark.

Well can't wait to test everything out. I'll give you all the feed back I come up with. :) Love this mod and your team and everyone who help ed you guys make this mod even better maybe one day it can become a stand alone game like Caribbean.

Best part of this new version? The bloody new Chaos models! I loved the old marouder armors /and kind of wish they could make some sort of a comeback/ but never did like the higher tier chaos warrior armors. But now they are absolutely amazing!

I can't seem to bring up tactic mode in battle. it glitches out for me and flashes when i press backspace, anyone else got the same problem?

This a list of some bugs and problems that i found while testing the mod (in some of those i had cheats enable, to make the testing easier)

-The first time i accessed the pbod menu, the cheat menu option had already been ticked. I though "that's weird" and i unticked and ticked again in order to activate. Go back to the pbod menu, and the option is unticked, but the menu is activated. Had to tick and untick to deactivate.

-The body armour of the dwarf master thunderer doesnt seem to fit him in the
right way, same thing with the iron breakers, the hammerers (they have a weird hunchback) and the longbeards. Also, the chaos, the goblins, the undead models, etc are great, but im not felling the same with the orcs. The models are very well done, but i fell that the others were more "orcish".

-In battle, i'm having difficulty in using the pbod special commands (ranks, shieldwall, etc). I can use them, but when i press the F4 key they only appear for a second. When pressing backspace is the same. Also the arrow key sticks in the screen and keep folowing my moves, even when i'm out of any kind of menu.

-The Dwarf Hand Cannon animation is wrong. The player point the gun down while shooting forward.

So it's not just me with command menu which disappear... it was ok for a while, but then 'something' happened and now I never see it.

Also if you use spear bracing command they won't stop it even with charge command... so if you as player die before ending spear bracing, they'll stay locked in it for the whole battle. :/

Also when I tried to allow AI to use formation AI... they always just stopped and watched me... even when I join a battle between two lords they were just watching each other and none attacked (until I send units close enough to lure the enemy... so both sides are just standing still waiting for player action).

Anyone else having chat trouble? My chat seems to have a hard time catching up to all the looting of villages and lords being defeated.

Also is there a reason badland goblins was changed to night goblins on the map. But shen you choose to start in their terroritory. The starting areas to choose from says badland goblins not night goblins

Seems like in my games ive started. The Realm of Chaos seem to have a difficult time against Kislev.

Don't worry you still have 10 days :p

Just take it easy, there's a lot of work and while there's always gonna be a bunch of asshats complaining, most of us are happy with what you're doing and can wait a bit longer.

If you wear yourselves out you're just gonna end up not getting it done at all later, or the next patch won't make it and so on.. So, it's better to just take it easy, do it because you want to and keep up the good work that you enjoy!

It's not a job it's a hobby, it should be fun.

I think the "destroy bandit lair" quest may be bugged. Lord Mannfred von Carstein keeps asking me to destroy the bandit hideout of Lord Mannfred von Carstein.

Just another post of bug... :) When I spoke with wizzard and asked him for magical wards... I cannot ended the dialog. It was not lagged there was just no option in dialogue and LMB didn't ended it. Animation in person view was fine, so it wasn't just lag.

I was not able to trade goods with him... not lvl30 or winner of 10 turnaments... so it might be because of it that I lacked dialog options, but I had to kill the process in windows to end the game.

Some suggestions:
the camera angles for chaos are a little wonky because of the size of them
Orcs need to be larger because chaos shouldn't be giants compared to orcs, I know you probably know this but orcs are huge also i dont
know if this is possible but it would be cool if the orcs would get bigger depending on their strength or rank but again i dont know if this is possible.

Also another suggestion would be to add faction only options if that is understandable, like chaos could make a sacrifice to the dark gods to gain some demons units or orks could regrow parts of their armies from spores. Also dialogue for certain factions could be changed to fit that faction.

And finally maybe some more big units idk if this is possible but it would be cool to have demon princes or snotling pump wagons Arachnaroch spider but i digress this is only M&B just a suggestion though.

Really nice mod :) but I encounterd a problem with vampire counts. When creating a hero for that faction I dont spawn with any weapons or armor, sometimes some food. I tried some diffreant past experiences but the only change was my stats and what food I got, no weapons or armor :(

I also tried wood elves and empire, no problem there though :)

it's because you just climbed up from a deep grave, where you were burried.

What you do is like I did, you ask Konrad if he has any quests, you get lucky and he asks you to collect taxes from the capitol and then you have loads of cash to buy starting gear with. Easypeasy :p

Will the freelancer mod included? And i have bug, when i play as Orc/Chaos/Beastman, any non standard model i dont get dmg. Its the same vs non human npc. Any help?

I was wondering, are you guys planning on allowing the players to enlist in armies again? Or are you guys just going to leave that out. The mod is absolutely stunning, that is the only thing I could complain about. Love all of the new races, weapons, and armor.

I came back to this mod because of the new Total War: Warhammer. after playing with Phantasy Calradia I wanted to play something that didn't Tank on the World map. i still only have the old Beta version + hotfix. I'm currently Downloading the new version(awesome that it was resurrected) I have one question, can you use magic in this? I know there is magic int he races, and even the Runesmith/Lords of the dwarves. can the player character wield such power?if not i'm pretty disappointed -_- that is one thing i enjoy about Phantasy Calradia, the interesting system for magic based arounf a skill and the throw weapon skill. its just really bugy and for some reason the World map Tanks hard.

I might be missing something out, but after installing the mod, I don't seem to be able to romance female lords (tried that with Emanuelle, option doesn't pop out). Am I doing something wrong or it still hasn't been implemented?

On a second note, what the hell do the Cult Masters do asides from threatening people? I'm pretty curious to know if someone has triggered extra dialogue from them!

Cult Masters are for evil factions what samaritans are for good, you can give captured villagers to them for Sacrifice (to some chaos god or other I guess) and he they will reward you with your faction recruits

Did you guys take out the ability to join an army? Since the hotfix this ability has been absent from dialogue options with Lords.

For some reason, my character (Sigmar) on the overmap will never ride a horse. He stays on foot. I'm not sure if this is a big issue, but I feel my character has a buff when riding a horse. Yes, I have a horse equipped. Awesome game besides that, i'll wait for the next patch though.

hi the spawn rate of bandids its very low or the patrols kill them very quick i almost dont see bandids i even use the cheat control t to try to find bandids and there where so few please make the respawn ou make more bandids
