Here's a little update on the side of Warsow development, partly because of the deadline of the MODDB Mod of the Year Awards and our own deadline for Warsow 0.4 not complying, but ofcourse also because an overview of the progress is nice. The latest current release (0.32) is quite dated, so here's a summary of our progress, to show we are still actively developping the game and there has been plenty of progress since 0.32.

Our current internal deadline for the next major release has been influenced by the announcement of the 4th edition of the Crossfire Challenge Series, where a cashprize Warsow compo will be ran. The LAN competition being late february, we decided to attempt to release 0.4 around january, allowing the players enough time to practise and get used to the new release. The release will bring improvements in gameplay, performance and visual quality.

First of all, a sum-up of some of the more noticable updates and changes:

- WarsowTV: Ability to broadcast games to alot of clients at the same time, in effect an multiview-demo livestream.
- New renderer features: Bumpmapping, specularmapping, realtime reflections and other advanced enginefeatures.
- Pre-set profiles for graphical settings: ranging from low graphicsettings for better performance to extreme settings to bring highend pc's down to their knees.
- Improved bot AI: Bots can bunnyhop, time items and powerups, walljump and dash, dodge rockets, etc.
- Minimaps: 2d topdown views of the map displaying items and players, for spectators and for use in WarsowTV
- Tweaked CTF gametype
- New playermodel: Bobot

This is just a selection of the new stuff, our goal is to bring Warsow 0.4 in january, on-time for the Crossfire Devotii Challenge 4 Warsow Competition, but sadly too late for MODDB's Mod of the Year Awards deadline!
