welcome in a new update ,late but better than nothing ..i guess!! XD
since most of the work is concentrated on time consuming minor stuff like coding and such that are not worthy a spotlight for updates we decided to reveal the latest and last 17th faction at some point called the empire of shifting sand
simply it is an ancient egyptian styled faction as such stuff doesnt have their amount of justice in RTS games
it is like ra3 jap but more bound to the ancient look and futuristic weapons at the same time with a degree of melee weaponry
here are some of its renders :-
the command center
is the classic backbone of the factions where you build your workers

well!! there is no much to say here
the portal
is simply a time/space gates to transport your units just like scrin gates
Ra Gate
an end game building for summoning epic units created by Ra
tomb of anubis
a tech building allows building some of the dark underworld units
the obelisk
obviously works like nod's obelisk of light
and now for some units
the war turtle
a mobile pyramid of light attacking was laser ofcourse
falcon light tank
it is the mbt of the egyptian factions ,its fast and have an accurate long range but it has the weakest armor in game
Hover M.A.L.S
the basic artillery unit sending a rain of laser arrows on its targets
petsuchos apc
an amphibious crocodile like apc and has a very tough armor !! infantry cant fire from it
spear necron trooper
oh yeah it is a necron :P with laser spare
archers
simply long ranged archers with laser arrows

i would better say that stargate reminds you of egypt for some reason ... :P
So says the egyptian mod designer :-p Maybe we can get (if not estimations on old egyption language, some authentic accents for the npcs from the mod designer himself :-p

I'm sorry, but I don't think this fits into a CNC mod, unless you have a good argument or course.
um you do know you don't have to play with them right? Seriously let the mod maker do what he wants to do, and luckily for this if you don't like the faction you don't have to play with it.
OK, just giving my opinion because I think this mod is great and I want to help keeping it great by telling what I think of this feature, no offense ;)
well. u do realise that not every thing can fit every one .simply what u dont like others may like it .and what u may like , others may dont like .it is a fact that u have to accept ;)
...and to expand on this note, in real life that realisation can help a LOT.

Well, why not. I mean, there's a Spartan faction in a RA 2 Mod, so why shouldn't there be aliens? Besides, Scrin are aliens, too ... :P

Maybe the SuperWeapon is a "Super Destructive Laser Shooting Pyramid" or "Super Destructive Sun balls shooting Pyramid" those 2 are awesome...
I would also guess there to be a sphinx involved with this faction at some point. Either a tech building or superweapon if a structure. If not, then an epic unit of some sort.

Well, I figured that part :/ I meant as to whether it would be a structure or a unit. If a structure, what kind & same for unit, what kind...
obviously i dont want to reveal that by now :P
Story based grudge match between these guys and the GLA would be nice to see in an eventual campaign mission. Looking forward to this faction!
