After a few months, that dreaded blank, black screen at the start of the game is now fixed! Enjoy creating names for your bars, tavers, saloons, pubs, speakeasies, children, etc. I hope that not everyone who tried to download experienced this!
Also, should this still be happening, press alt+enter to force the game to run in windowed mode, which should fix it.
