Hello everyone! The next regular update is taking longer than expected, and seeing as it's, more or less, Valentine's Day, and since I haven't posted an update in a while, I decided to make this quick video to show some love to you, our loyal fans.

The next regular update is taking longer than expected, and seeing as it's, more or less, Valentine's Day, and since I haven't posted an update in a while, I decided to make this quick video to show some love to you, our loyal fans.

The main thing showcased in this video, is this sand storm effect that I've been tinkering with for a while. It's based on the fog effect made famous by ZH Enhanced. This video also shows off some of the different weapon fx we've made for the mod. Anyway, enough talk, on with the video!

Just 'nother day at an ordinary defense line ...

And, I see a lot of Ground Control II influence in there (Spartan Tanks, Valkyrie, Cerberus Defense).

This is looking awesome.

I do have what may be a dumb question.

Is it possible to make it so the Sandstorm happens at random times on the map, and when it does happen it shortens your unit's sight range and attack range, as well as the accuracy of the units? Like it makes the ScatterRadius/ScatterRadiusVsInfantry larger? Maybe they also move slower than normal? Is it possible to do that with the Generals Engine or no? I mean, I do some modding to ZH but nothing heavy other than tweaking the Weapons/Sight/Vision/Range of all the units to my standards.

Tbh we also wish that was possible. Sadly in SAGE - aka the engine - weather effects are purely cosmetic and even that requires some sacrifices.

But hey - think of it this way - the action takes place in 2060+ - by then a lame sandstorm won't be a problem for that technology level :)

Well i just had to ask. I didn't figure it was possible with the Sage, but the only dumb question is the one not asked, I suppose.

If by map scripting one would spawn an object with a status field and reuse Frenzy(or another buff) power to decrease range/accuracy then yes, the vision range however is a totally different piece of cake. There's only one thing modifying unit vision range i believe, and that's "Search and Destroy" battleplan from the strategy center.
