Urban Conflict 1.3 released : The Imposed War and The Persian Gulf War news

The Iran–Iraq War (also called the Imposed War by Iranian) , was an armed conflict between Iran and Iraq between 1980, when Iraq invaded Iran, to 1988, ending by a stalemate. It was also one of the cause of the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, leading to the Persian Gulf War. This war was compared to World War 1 in tactics, including trench warfare, and included one of the largest land battles since World War 2.

The Gulf War was a war waged by coalition forces from 35 nations led by the United States against Iraq in response to Iraq's invasion of Kuwait.The war is also known under other names, such as the Persian Gulf War, First Gulf War, Gulf War I, Kuwait War, First Iraq War, or Iraq War before the term "Iraq War" became identified instead with the 2003 Iraq War.

Like in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, the USA were the leader of the coalition. The United States Army is the largest branch of the US Armed Forces.

T54/T55

The T-54 and T-55 tanks are a series of Soviet main battle tanks introduced just as the WW2 ended. The first T-54 prototype was completed at Nizhni Tagli by the end of 1945. I myself can't recognize T54 and T55 xD

In 1979, the year of the Shah's departure and the revolution, the Iranian military experienced a 60% desertion from its ranks. Following the ideological principles of the Islamic revolution in Iran, the new revolutionary government sought to strengthen its domestic situation by conducting a purge of senior military personnel closely associated with the Pahlavi Dynasty. This disorganization was the Iraqi enthusiasm to invade Iran.

M48 Patton

The M48 Patton is a MBT that was designed in the United States. It was the third tank to be officially named after General George S.Patton , commander of the U.S Third Army during World War II and one of the earliest American advocates for the use of tanks in battle.

Iranian M48 tanks were used widely in the Imposed war.

The M4 Sherman, officially Medium Tank, M4, was the most numerous battle tank used by the USA and some of the other Western allies in WW2. The M4 Sherman proved to be reliable, relatively cheap to produce and available in great numbers.

F14

The Grumman F-14 Tomcat is an American supersonic,twin engine, two-seat, fighter-aircraft. The Tomcat was developed for the US Navy's Naval Fighter Experimental (VFX) program after the collapse of the F-111B project.

In the 1980s F-14s were used as land-based interceptors by the Islamic Republic of Ira Air Force during the Iran-Iraq war, where they saw combat against Iraqi warplanes. Iranian F-14s reportedly shot down at least 160 Iraqi aircraft during the war, while only 12 to 16 Tomcats were lost; at least half of these losses were due to accidents.

F4 Phantom

The McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II is a tandem two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather, long-range supersonic jet interceptor aircraft/fighter-bomber originally developed for the US Navy by McDonnell Aircraft. It first entered service in 1960 with the U.S. Navy. Proving highly adaptable, it was also adopted by the US Marines Corps and the US Air Forces, and by the mid-1960s had become a major part of their respective air wings.

The F-4 was also operated by the armed forces of 11 other nations, including Iran who used its large fleet of Phantoms in the Iran-Iraq war.

The ZPU is a family of towed anti-aircraft gun. It entered service with the Soviet Union in 1949 and is used by over 50 countries worldwide. Development of the ZPU-4 began in 1945. The quad-barrel ZPU-4 uses a four-wheel carriage similar to that once used by the obsolete 25 mm automatic anti-aircraft gun M1940. In firing position, the weapon is lowered onto firing jacks. It can be brought in and out of action in about 15 to 20 seconds, and can be fired with the wheels in the traveling position if needed.
