Post regarding the game's current status and the game's future.

I want to apologize for not releasing the client last month. Something came up and I was unable to really work on Pixel Miners but now its all good. Right now Pixel Miners has a client that lets you launch the game, view news, and even update the game remotely. Also the source code is a jumbled mess. That being said I have been working on reprogramming the game entirely.

I'm doing what I like to call "Nature Programming" where I focus on the game's atmosphere and environment before adding in any major game mechanics such as a player. I started off by making a simple scrolling background. After that I added clouds, and then added a simple time element. When the time reaches a certain point the backgrounds will change accordingly; light for day and dark for night. I'm working on making the backgrounds blend so a sunrise and sunset are noticeable. Speaking of the sun, I've added that too and its friend the moon. Now they don't move perfectly based on time as I'm still tinkering with that.

The Future:
I plan on adding in more elements from nature before adding in the game's core mechanics. I want to get the in game time perfect, get the sunrise and sunset working, add dynamic clouds (instead of ones that just fly to the left and never stop), and get the music to work properly when the time changes. Eventually the game's core mechanics (player movement, random maps, mining, etc.) will be added but for now making all this nature stuff will make those processes go by much smoother, trust me.

Anyways, here's an early version of what I've been working on. Please not only the sun is shown as the Moon is still very buggy:

So to conclude, a release will come eventually. I don't want to release anything really unfinished or unplayable.
