Hello everyone and welcome to the 71st Battlegroup-Frontlines mod news. Firstly we would like to update you on our new website, which can be found here. We also would like to announce that BGF is back in business, as some of you have already noticed! After our long break, which started in the fall of 2008, we have now reawakened and are ready to bring the Eastern Front back to your living rooms!
In BGF 1.0 and 1.05, we focused on the early part of the war in the Eastern Front - 1940 to 1943. Now the time is almost right to push the Germans back westwards under the force of the Russian assaults, until we finally reach their capital – Berlin. The road to Berlin, from 1943 to 1945, will garrison you throughout all of the territories captured during the German advances up to the middle of 1943. The first step to victory will be the recapture of Stalingrad. Prepare yourself to be equipped with the latest weaponry, like the new delivered StG44, Tiger and Panther tanks as well as their Soviet counterparts such as IS-2 battle tanks, LaGG-3 fighter planes and lend-leased equipment shipped from the USA.

To help us achieve our goal quicker, we are still looking for talented people who are willing to join the BGF team. We especially need:

  • Programmers for vehicles/weapons (incl. exporting skills)
  • 3D/2D Designers especially for statics like buildings
  • Animators for hand weapons

Of course any other help for other positions is also always welcome. To apply, check out our new forum here.

Last but not least, we would like to show you two new toys that we have recently created. The first will be the Volkswagen (VW) command car that allows you and your passengers to cross the battlefield quickly, efficiently and without attracting to much attention although there will be admirers of your ride.
Second is the German Sturmpanzer VI, otherwise known as the Sturmtiger. This is equipped with a 38cm mortar (approx. 15in.) that has the ability to destroy almost everything in sight. Its disadvantages are of course the agility as well as the reload time.

Be sure to check out our media section. It’s getting updated daily with old and new stuff that awaits you ingame.

That’s it for the moment. We like to thank you for reading and stay tuned for the next update!

Cool, tracking!

Are you planning on making this a fun WW2 mod or are you going for more of a simulation like Forgotten Hope 2?
