The new weapon crafting update is out now, here's the change list:
0.42.0 "Crafting"
- -Weapon Crafting. Awesome.
- -Ore mining.
- -Stone/Ore mining upgrades, automated mines.
- -Weapon types have been refangled around.
- -Certain weapon types now give bonuses or penalties to attack/defence skills.
- -New game start-off: "The Holy Sword".
- -Characters will let you know if they don't have any inventory space to collect some goods, and all the storages are full
- -When a character is working at something, the info window will show you which skill is being used, and the effect it has on his work output.
BUGFIXES
- -Added extra Screen resolution option to the in-game options menu, because lots of people missed the one at startup.
- -Fixed the bug where if you got negative money, you couldn't get paid for selling items
- -Fixed crash when pressing the Rescue button
As usual, the next few updates will be smaller, bug-fixing type patches. Then I will probably go on to fix the wall building, and add some automate-able character AI jobs for your bases.
Yay :D I'm actually not playing Kenshi all the time now, waiting for a more stable build so my opinion of it isn't spoiled. I absolutely love this game!

i own and play like 15-20 alpha's and all i see is the good to come :)
More than once I've played a game in its Alpha state and a single game breaking bug ruins my entire opinion of it. It's not something I can help.

This happens to me with version 1/complete Indie games but I understand your concern, it was one of the few things that made me fear Alpha games and Indie developers a few years ago :)
I personally often buy alpha indie games, but then wait to play them till they're in a more finished state.
Not necessarily because I won't have fun while playing the alpha, but because I'm afraid I'll get bored of the game before it comes out and won't return to it when it's done.
The result? I bought Kenshi the day it became available for pre-order, but haven't played it.
I would play it but I've got no idea how to start it. Granted the last time I played it was 0.2.something so I guess it's maybe a little more clear on the instructions in the begining.

i love the new update! got my mood all set for the rest for the game.
Only some minor bugs:
- Weapons dissapear after crafting (in the "output" space of the crafting bench.)
- Cant place the semi-automated Stone Mine anywhere in the whole map.( keep getting error of that the building needs more leveltation.)
- No Steel-Bars production available yet ( this is what makes the crafting buggy i think, since u use raw iron "automaticly" instead of steel - bars)
there seems be update that fixes problem 0.42.1, but so far steam hasnt gotten update. i beleave desura does have that patch tho.

game crashes now everytime i try and build something ever since the new update
Uninstall game and reinstall it. (or maybe disable any mods ur using)
I have done that 3 times now it wont even let me in the game since the update says its not compatable with my system and the wyx thing wont load up or the core
