Once again, the time has come: The 2014 Moddb.com „Mod of the year“-awards are at our doorstep, and we have been nominated again in the category “Best Upcoming”. Last year, due to your support – and to our surprise – we are able to score the 2nd place out of more than 20 000 contestants. Once more, we’d like to express our thanks to you.
However, this also means that the only way for us to reach the Top 5 this time is by scoring the first place. Needless to say, that this would be extremely motivating for us. As usual, the voting is split into two parts: First of all, a top 100 is built from all the nominees. Then, a second phase starts, where the ranking among these Top 100 is determined.

Is it grammatically correct to start a sentence with a coordinating conjunction? I think the flavour text is very nice, but perhaps needs more work.
The video looks wonderful, great music and visuals is most definitely not something this project lacks.
As far as I know, there is no grammar rule that forbids coordinating conjunctions to start a sentence. It shouldn't be used too often, however. I have to admit, though, that the English version of the flavour text was created from the German one, which I had to write in ~ 10 minutes, since we were short on time. :)
I do not really have a problem with the text, it is wonderful work and quite inspiring. I will say that you should not rush things, perfection is worth the wait. :)
