We are pleased to announce the release of Towns 0.50 !
This version carries with itself a dramatic change in the underline engine. one we wanted to do ages ago, but only now decided to strike at it.
In this new version, players has the freedom to create multiple level buildings, from small houses to huge sprawling castles.
This brings a few other changes as well including a slight rebalance of the sleep/food timings to allow more freedom to build but without neglecting balance, new graphics for some units and an autosave feature.

We have uploaded a mini patch, towns 0.50a. in the mini patch building should be much more streamlined. i have also added pictorial mini guides for those who are new to towns 0.50.

I bought on gamersgate - Is there any way to make the download file have the version number as part of the name? I never know what version it is until I uninstall and download and install "towns(alpha).exe." I end up having to wait a few days after release of a new version and hope they updated it :(
Click on the game from your library. Not the download button, just the game. The game will show up on the right hand side of the screen, click on details. It will show you what version it is.

I think the field selection was better in the previous version. It is very difficult now to figure out what level you need tob e at to build something. And I miss being able to see the hills, it doesn't look as nice to just have chopped away areas with a bunch of "unknown" land types.
I purchased this game a while ago in Indie Royale's Alpha Bundle, and I seem to still have the Alpha version of this game. Can I expect the updates? Thanks!
