Ladies and Gents, today marks the finalisation of the move from version 3 of ModDB to the version 4 we all know and love with the return of Topsites. Our excuse for taking so long? Time + effort required and other site expansions taking up all of our time.
Wait topsites?
Yes topsites! If you signed up to ModDB any time after 2007 you would have never seen it in action. Simply put topsites is our external or 3rd party ranking site. It ranks sites in their overall popularity based on how many clicks our embedded button does from any website already nominated. Purely for stats, bragging rights but if used correctly can also drive a considerable amount of new visitors to your mods/games website.
How can I use it?
Easily! Just like any other portion of the site you simply need to visit the topsites page, click the plus symbol that will take you to this URL (IndieDB uses go here), select the category your website fits into and embed the button on your site. Easypeasy.
As it stands right now the content is a little old. We are hoping that you guys will fill it full of awesome websites and spread the love of modding and indie gaming!
Haha oh god, it returns...
indeed
I hope anticheat preventative mesaures are in place this time.
YES! :D
Finally! GREAT NEWS!!! Thank you so much guys! Awesome work what you did! I'll love this feature, that's for sure!
Is there a way to manage an existing topsite?
yeah, existing topsites are there - just need to be found :|
WOOT!
Now let the hit spammage begin!
I was wondering if this would reappear a few days ago actually.
WERY NICE ;)
+1 great feature
great, yet its definately got some ancient sites on there, 90% of sites are no longer in use / active. I hope those sites get completely off the list once people start adding new websites.
Time to resurrect Modinformer....
Sweet glad to see its back but yea,DzjengisKhan has a point.
it will be cleaned up, sites which haven't logged a visitor in, in the next month will be removed.
I hope the new update finally includes notification in comment areas. I have read about it in the forums, but maybe its something they could eventually add
Already done: Moddb.com
Lol, Obsidian Conflict appears in the picture.
