As a big thanks for everyone voting for us to make Top 100, I've decided to put together a contest. All you need to do is suggest a cool new ability for the Necrotrophs in this news post.

As a big thanks for everyone voting for us to make Top 100, I've decided to put together a contest. All you need to do is suggest a cool new ability for the Necrotrophs in this news post.

How it will work: 
This competition will award two winners (each having a $20 limit for any game they want on Steam). The first winner will be chosen by you, the viewers (simply add karma to whichever post contains the suggestion you like) and the second will be selected by us, the Devs. Then, the subsequent winners of this competition will be revealed early next week. You can suggest anything from "special abilities" such as vomiting blood that covers the players screen or "passive" abilities such as increased running speed/strength, The only rules I have are:

1. Cannot be a duplicate of someone else's idea (even mine, see this entire news post).

2. It must follow this format:

Idea: Blood Vomiting
Ability Type: Special (the other being Passive)
Pro: Blinds Resistance players' screen.
Con: Is attached to health/stamina, the more the Necro vomits the less health/stamina they have.

Here is some information regarding the Necrotroph:
The Necrotroph is a parasite-controlled human that has been reverted back to an almost animal-like state. While they may appear totally savage, the controlling parasite can still telepathically sense the distance and condition of other fellow Necrotroph's (i.e. they not only know where eachother are, but how much health they have). The parasite is not totally telepathic though, communication is still produced through human/parasitic vocals.

Idea: No Way Out
Ability Type: Special
Pro: Causes resistance to freak out and if resistance don't holster their weapon in 5-10 seconds then they are forced to shoot themselves. Can be a scream or screech with tentacles flying everywhere.
Con: Uses a significant amount of stamina and/or the necrotroph can't move until the gun is holstered or the resistance fellow takes care of his "problem."

Just realized I've misspelled Necrotroph until now...sorry.

Ability Type: Passive.
Pro: Runs faster than normal for a short time.
Con: When this ability is active, 25%/50% of the health is removed.

Ability Type: Special

Pro: Infects a survivor with a parasite which hurts the player 25 damage (considering there health is at 100) over 5 seconds. While the survivor is infected with the parasite, he gives off a distinct green glow so that his fellow Nectrotrophs can see him on there HUD. They also can see the health of the survivor (considering they can't already).

Con: The Necrotroph can no longer sense the distance and condition of his fellow companions. The necrotroph hurts himself 50% of his HP. The Necrotroph can only use his parasite ability once per lifetime.

If it seems that I am copy'ing people that is not the case, as I read the first page then afterwards noticed there were 4.

Starcraft is awesome! It would be cool if they made an FPS starcraft where you control a soldier in those big armors with the fat machine guns .. would be awesome!

Pro: Ability to project a scream from behind all nearby players. This works well as most players will look towards the sound.
Con: If the player is facing the other way already, it could bring attention to the Necrotroph's true position.

Ability Type: Passive
Pro: Gives the Necrotroph a 5 second adrenaline boost the moment an opposing player is seen. Visibility brightens, increase in melee strength, and opposing player becomes highlighted in a blood halo.
Con: One time high per life.

Pro: When activated cloaks Necro and gives a 2x damage and a lifesteal 75% on first attack (Decloaks after attack or damage) limited to 10s -+ depending on balance issues.

Con: Not useful to use against large human groups (a lot easier to seen and shot at.

Idea: Crippling Stare

Abillity type: Active

Pro: When activated one targeted human up close or from a distance gets paralyzed for 5s (must be facing)(Paralyzed human cannot shoot or call for help).

Cons: YOU CANT MOVE EITHER! Only useful in pack hunts with 2+ other Necros. While you hold them down from a distance or up close (however lucky you are) the other Necro can go up and kill them

Ability Type: Special
Pro: Greatly Slows The Surviors Down and makes them loose blood at a faster rate (If hp is below 30-50% there stamina regenerates slower)
Con: You only get one chance at this deadly move per life/It requires you to grab onto your target and sink your tenticles into them.

Pro: Walking in the path of a Necrotroph will cause the players screen to become a "shaking" or "morphing" view due to the horrid smell passed on within the Necrotroph tracks.
Con: Can see a gas/heat looking blur behind him so the player will know were not to stand.

[The smell would be the smell of a dead body]

Pro: Will spray some healing gas from body, another Necrotroph get close to this special necrotroph will getting their hp increase
Con: After used the healing gas, the hp of this Necrotroph will decrease to near death state, but their hp will regenerate very slowly.

Pro: The Necrotroph will see a small red dot on a resistance member striking the dot will cause major damage
Con: While active the Nercotrophs eyes will glow giving it away while slowly losing health say 5 health every 7 seconds

Pro: The Necrotrophs heal themselves (or get upgrade points to get to another class, i dont know what the dev team got on mind, but they choose) when eating from the flesh of resistance corpses
Con: The Necrotrophs are vulnerable and cant move while doing so

Idea: Absorption

Ability Type: Passive

Pros: Blood that has been lost from the players (humans) can be absorbed by passing over the puddles of which the blood lies. By absorbing the blood form the human, it initiates a 10% health regeneration.

Cons: Although it regenerates the health of the Necrotrophs, it drains and returns the health back to before it absorbed over a period of 25 seconds. It also hits the Necrotroph with a 5% speed decrease while the human blood is running through its veins.

This would be a very intense game addition. It would make the players a little more careful about getting hit as it would lead to an advantage for the Necros.

Pros: Alerts every Necro of nearby survivors(they will start glowing in red or green according to their health, for 7 seconds). Any unlucky human who happens to be in really close range will get an temporary ear disorder, like Tinnitus(high-pitched sound, yeah, you know what I am talking about. ;))

Cons: 20 seconds cooldown. Vulnerable during the process which takes 4 seconds...

How it works: The Necro takes a deep breath, raises his head and cries a terrifying scream.

Why: 'the controlling parasite can still telepathically sense the distance and condition of other fellow Necrotroph's (i.e. they not only know where eachother are, but how much health they have).'

But there was not a word about sensing the survivors ? I thought this might help a bit then. Are those parasites working in packs for example ? That would fit just perfectly.

EDIT: Ah, I see some kind of this idea was already posted. Well, mine is a bit different but not a copy on a purpose by any means. Let the others decide.

Pro: Able to disarm a survivor, forcing him to switch to a different weapon. Mabye a brief stun? Also, mabye the weapon is then broken.
Con: Only disarms the weapon the survivor is currently holding, and is somewhat of a suicide attack. Mabye has a short animation that will leave both subjects vunerable.

Ability Type: Special (1 use only)

Pro: The Necro enters a stage of dormancy when critically injured to the point of death (25 HP or Lower). During this stage the parasite focuses the hosts energy into repairing itself to 75% of it's original health level.

Con: During this stage, the Necro is unable to move or attack and remains motionless in a hunched position. They also receive more damage in this state as the parasite focus's all energy on repairing the host body.

Ability Type: Passive

Pro: Necro's can determine the status of a human survivor's condition with smell and sight, a coloured glowing hue represents their status.

*Blue = Normal Condition, Not Attacking

*Yellow = Distressed, Attacking

*Red = Wounded, Bleeding/Poison/Stunned etc.

*White = Fatigued, 0 stamina

Con: Does not represent the Human's Health Level, just shows the current condition and state of mind they are in.

Idea nº2:

Idea: Feeding
Ability Type: Special
Pros: Gives the Necro the ability to feed on corpses (human corpses or Necro corpses, although Necro corpses give less health than human corpses)
Cons: While feeding, which is a long process, the Necro is completely vulnerable

Description: The Necrotroph feeds on corpses using his tentacles, restoring all his health.

Pro: Hold onto Resistance player from behind (max 7 sec)-->the Resistance player cannot move only move at 10% of normal speed
Con: cannot attack Resistance Player, if attacked Necrotroph gets 50% more damage
