As a big thanks for everyone voting for us to make Top 100, I've decided to put together a contest. All you need to do is suggest a cool new ability for the Necrotrophs in this news post.

As a big thanks for everyone voting for us to make Top 100, I've decided to put together a contest. All you need to do is suggest a cool new ability for the Necrotrophs in this news post.

How it will work:
This competition will award two winners (each having a $20 limit for any game they want on Steam). The first winner will be chosen by you, the viewers (simply add karma to whichever post contains the suggestion you like) and the second will be selected by us, the Devs. Then, the subsequent winners of this competition will be revealed early next week. You can suggest anything from "special abilities" such as vomiting blood that covers the players screen or "passive" abilities such as increased running speed/strength, The only rules I have are:

1. Cannot be a duplicate of someone else's idea (even mine, see this entire news post).

2. It must follow this format:

Idea: Blood Vomiting
Ability Type: Special (the other being Passive)
Pro: Blinds Resistance players' screen.
Con: Is attached to health/stamina, the more the Necro vomits the less health/stamina they have.

Here is some information regarding the Necrotroph:
The Necrotroph is a parasite-controlled human that has been reverted back to an almost animal-like state. While they may appear totally savage, the controlling parasite can still telepathically sense the distance and condition of other fellow Necrotroph's (i.e. they not only know where eachother are, but how much health they have). The parasite is not totally telepathic though, communication is still produced through human/parasitic vocals.

Idea: Telepathic Vision Mode
Ability Type: Special
Pro: Everything appears blue while Allies and enemy appear a bright
Green = 85-100%
Light Green = 75-85
Yellow = 50-75
Light Red = 30-50
Dark Red = 0-30
percents represent health.
So now you can make a plan to attack a certain player(s).
Cons: Hard to distinguish foe from friend from far away.
Drains Stamina slowly and more vulnerable to headshots
(Not sure if a headshot for Necros are already instant-kill).

Type: Special
Pro : Coughs on you, and you get virus particles inside yourself, starting to see blurry/red, and loosing 5HP per second, wich lasts in 5 seconds.
Cons: Takes lots of stamina.

Ability type: Passive
Pro: When killing an enemy you get an uncontrollable urge for more blood, thereby giving you a bonus in attack and speed for a few seconds. Great for taking on several enemies.
Con: can only be achived after killing an enemy.

Idea: Sixth Sense

Type: Special

Pro: Can see enemies through walls. While not moving, the range of this ability doubles (default range 20-30 meters) and players have 50% invisibility.

Cons: While in this mod, players have speed reduced up to 30%, and are more vulnerable ( -55% of players defense). Also this ability has a 1 minute cool down, and requires 10 seconds for the player to reach its initial status (have its initial defense and speed) after deactivating it.

I also suggest that both winners are to be picked by developers or make a poll.

Idea: Smashing necro

Type: Special

Pro: This necro uses the parasite to jump really high and then brakes everything underneath him with a big punch. A really powerfull attack.

Cons: If he misses, he will be stuck on the floor for 7 seconds, giving the resistance a better chance to kill him.When he frees himself, he'll be much slower

Idea: Transformation

Type: Special

Pro: The necrotoph arms transforms in spears made of bone, Dealing huge damage when attacking. Lasts untill killed.

Con: Takes 15-20 sec to transform, Takes about 20% of hp and slows him down by 10-25% (Idk how fast they are). The necrotoph also makes a loud scream, Informing the Humans about the transformation ^.^

Idea: Parasite Infecting

Type: Special

Pro: The idea of this is slowing the movement of the prey. The necro violently bites a player to leg, reducing its movement speed (5-7 sec) for a short amount of time because of the parasites infecting the players leg. If necro misses the chomp, he vomits the parasites on floor, causing them to die instantly for having any host body.

Cons: After the miss, and parasites dead, the cause of the vomit weakens the necro to slow him instead for same amount of time as it would been on a resistance player, because of losing some of his parasites.

Idea:False Cry


Pros: The necro will imitate a human's cry for help and can set up an ambush for the unsuspecting human. gains +50 HP and gain the ability to be on walls for 5 seconds(for the wall climbing)

Cons: Can only be used once ( so think carefully!), also when used you become slower by 10%.

We actually implemented something like this already. It's called "Mimic." When you open up the Necro voice command list, you will see Mimic and it basically allows you to say "I need backup" or "follow me" using human voices.

Pro: Allowing necros to pick up random props (planks,rocks,metal bars etc.) and use them as weapons for extra damage EDIT:maybe even throw them at humans
Cons: Slower moving speed and/or no sprint

Pro: After a row of a certain number of kills without dying the necros get smarter and are able to pick up weapons and use them against the resistance.
Cons: Ability lost upon death , and cannot sprint while carrying a weapon.

lol agreed. the devs should just say that they will pick both winners due to lack of community cooperation, and then maybe this crazy karma voting will stop. some of these ideas are really quite good, but if the karma voting is anything to go by, they won't get taken seriously. I still have loads of other ideas to push out, but don't really see the point if people just pass around neg karma or get their friends to boost their own rating.

Ability Type: Special
Pro: The parasitic entity gains knowledge of refined physical structuring, allowing him to change the body into a specialized form suiting its needs :
Speed Form : +25% speed, +15% stamina
Attack Form : +15% damage, +15 damage resistance
Spectre Form : Invisibility while staying still, +15 speed

Con: Each form comes at a cost of other functions :
Speed Form : -15% damage, -15% damage resistance
Attack Form : -25% speed, -20% stamina
Spectre Form : -20% damage, -35% damage resistance

Idea: Poison Body
Ability Type: Passive
Pro: The Necro secretes poisonous liquid from his skin which covers his entire body, which deals poisonous damage to the enemy every second if the attacker comes in any contact with the necro (touch, melee attack, etc.), also the necro's death will result in a small toxic implosion which will deal -10% damage to enemies nearby.
Con: The poison affects the necro as well, dealing +1 damage every second and the constant secretion deals pressure to his body, which makes him 10% slower.

Pro: on active the necro will get 60% life steal based on his damage
conc: however the necro will also lose 45% of his base damage

Idea: Heavy Pounce

Ability Type: Special

Pro: The Necrotrophs leap forward (very quickly), tackling and rolling with a Resistance player. The attack is very fast, so it is hard to avoid, and temporarily disables a player (light damage to no damage - more for a stun and not damage) and leaves them open for other Necrotrophs. Also, (if desired by the Devs) there could be a VERY light chance of disarming a Resistance player (like a 5% chance for balance).

Con: While the Necrotroph does this leap, it screams, letting out its position. This can either alert other Resistance forces, or more Necrotrophs, but can lead to consequences when alone. Also, to prevent spam, and promote the use of strategy (God forbid) the leap taxes a Necrotroph who utilizes it. After the leap, grab, and roll, the Necrotroph is left stumbling around for a few seconds, just as long as the human is left catching his/her own balance. So if used at a bad moment, both will get up without anything wrong, but a Resistance player in a group will be in no major harm.

*This attack would tire out a Necrotroph (it takes a bit of energy to leap THIS quickly), and cannot be used repeatedly after other Heavy Pounces. Thats for just balance, and to prevent spam. Necrotrophs wouldn't experience any movement slow, or any hindrance from this, just that they stumble just as much as a human does, and cannot spam the Heavy Pounce.

Pro: The Necro walk with 4 legs and has armor on his back. He received little damage on the back and on the head. Humans's screen moves when necro attacks him.

Con: It must (maybe partly) rise to attack, with the belly revealed (which is a weaker party : so the damages are more important). The belly is more visible when people are squatting.
He has a lower speed than others Necro.

It is good, if we want to charge at the enemy and create confusion

Pros: Allows the necro to see movement. Players that move are bright and can be spotted easily
Cons: the rest of the world appears dim making it harder to see also players that aren't moving appear dim as well.

Idea: Hollow bones
Ability Type: Passive
Pros: The necro gains 20% more speed
Cons: The necro has 20% less health

P.S: I think that the contest shouldn't be based off of karma considering that everyone is voting everyone down to try to win.

Pro: Necro attaches itself onto a human's back and will start draining his health little by little until he dies. The human does not notice this but if he starts seeing that his health is being drained, he will have to get help and get the necro off.
Cons: If the necro is shot while he's leeching, he dies in one shot. The necro can't get off once he's on the human.

Idea: low crouch with optional pounce, (like what you see cats do before they pounce on their prey)

Ability Type: Special

Pro: would allow a necro to hide behind small bumps in the terrain or long grass and ambush the enemy with an unexpected attack or leap.

Con: if your hit during crouching, you lose all stamina, and become temporarily disorientated.

Pro: If a Necro is low on health the adrenalin flows trough his body giving him increasing moving speed and damage to get a last chance to attack an human before dying
Cons: While the Necro is affected due to adrenalin his view will be limited by tunnel view.

Type: Special

Pros: These necros have the ability to use all the elements: fire, earth, water and wind. They can spit fire, create earthquakes, tornados and tsunamis. They have a LOT of health.

Cons: After using the earth or water elements, the necro gets exhausted and starts to slow down
They're very bad for the resistance because they're super strong.
It's useless to fight it alone, only teamwork will work with
this necro, so don't fight it all by yourself!

Type: Special
Pros: The parasite can leap into a player's mouth (out of its host), killing him instantly and taking over his body. An effective way to kill + gain health, if the previous host was low on it. Can be used right before the Necrotroph dies, making them hard to actually kill for good. Also, since the host is 'new', it looks almost identical to every other human player, thus making it seem to be a normal human.
Cons: If it misses, it either dies instantly or has to find a dead body to use as a new host.

Note: This is very different from RaviL's idea, which I have noticed after writing mine.

Ability Type: Passive
Pro: The Necro players can use this by running to a wall and double tapping space to wall jump, to escape from near death or use is it to confuse the enemy team on where you're going.
Con: Wall jumping will consume stamina, it will also give the necro player an exhaustion kind of sound from wall jumping giving out your location to the enemy team.
