A rather short explanation of why you see a new Yuuzhan Vong mod created by (ex)core members of the Shapers modding group...

Greetings, mod visitors!

Short and to point: I, Seregruth, and my brother, Enpremi, decided for numerous reasons to leave the Shapers group and work on a new mod: Vong Invaders.

Main changes:
Size of the mod - no gargantuan entire era covering modification with completely new features, but rather something similar to the FoC Expansion in terms of content: new race and some new units for the existing factions. We hereby return to our very first intention (the one I had on mind when I established the YVAW mod page a few years ago) to make a new race and not much more. Downside of this decision is that you will play with Vongs outside of their "real" era, advantage is that you will play with them sooner ;)
Release - we intend to publish the mod ASAP, rush it even with some TEXT_MISSING, improper sounds etc. The release itself will happen in 3 stages: space skirmish, land skirmish and GC. The estimated date for space is end of August, but this heavily depends on the level of enthusiasm, which is rather high right now.
Credits - once a stage is released we are ready to share our models with any modder of good manners so he/she can use them in his/her mod. We can also provide you with original 3ds Max meshes. All we want is to know who is using our work, therefore we are explicitly against redistributing our stuff to 3rd person without us knowing about it. We are also eager to adjust our mod to work with other mods which might fit the era better. If anyone of you improves our files we will upload them gladly on this page or incorporate them into a patch.
Your opinion - we would like to see more vivid discussion under our images/articles. Things like "Good work" are always appreciated and push us forward, but we will more often ask you about your opinion and ideas so do not hesitate to express them!

I've got a tip for the sounds. Try using the sounds for the Noghri for the Vong. I've kinda pictured the Yuuzhan Vong as sounding like the Noghri or at least the EaW version of the Noghri.

I still don't know WHY am I seeing a new vong mod created by (ex)core members of the other one! What happened between you people?!

Edit: not that I'm complaining, you guys do real quality stuff it's just that I think your abilities combined with the other mod's would net a better result.

it wasn´t a real clash or any sort of that, but we decided that it would be better (in terms of motivation, mainly) to act independently from the original group. I sincerely do not await any drop in visual quality nor in coding (though we will go for less complicated variants than originally intended), so no worries ;)

Well everyone can certainly respect that. I think it would be better as a whole for both mods as long as friendly collaboration and sharing still take place between both mods. As you guys develop your units will you still be sharing resources with the shapers? Some examples, ground units, custom animations (looking forward to Empremi's work), etc.

Very curious. I see your proyect very possible at a short amount of time without lose fun, even perhaps it will be more fun, obviously it depends from the tastes of the people, not as the other which probably will be finished when nobody play EAW.
