20 years have passed in the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. universe.
After a long war, factions have left the zone. The Military cleaned up the aftermath and they never showed up either.
The zone became a wilder place, with nature taking over everything.
In that hostile environment, small groups of hunters and loners still remain in the less irradiated areas. They share space with wildlife, mainly endemic species.
It is said that in places ravaged by blowouts, animals have turned to monsters, and monsters seen by the ancient stalkers became even more terrifying and dangerous.
Nobody ever tried to go back there. Until that day.
