You know, I can remember the first time I stumbled across Armada 3.
It was late on a Saturday night in early 2013. At the time I was volunteering as a handyman for my local church, and was stopping by after work to clean the old place up. It was about 11:30 at night, I was already sore and exhausted from a hard shift and I saw that some poor fool had left the church's computer on. 'No worries,' I thought, 'I can take a break and surf the net for a while.' So I hopped online, watched some funny YouTube videos, and then started looking around at ways to expand the game I was playing a lot of at the time - Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion. I'd only taken short glimpses at ModDb before then, but I had the time and took a closer look at some of the mods available. That's when I found it. Star Trek - Armada 3.
See, I was already a lifelong Star Trek fan. I had grown up with the show. The characters were some of my most cherished heroes. The Star Trek name as a whole was already pretty dear to me. So, naturally, the name caught my eye. I took a good, long look, and liked what I saw. So I kept coming back, following the mod right up until I was among the first to download 0.95 in the early hours of Christmas Day, 2013.
Who'd have thought that evening half a decade ago would set me on this course. Each team member has their own stories of how they joined up (except for Max - part of me is still convinced he's actually a highly caffeinated hamster), but we've developed friendships that I hope will last long into the future.
And now here were are - early 2018, three expansions and a whole bunch of updates after that first release, on the verge of releasing the complete and final versions of The Final Frontier and Nemesis, the newest addition to the Armada 3 family. What a ride it's been.
Yes, today is the day you've been waiting for - release day. And not just any release day - the final release day for Armada 3. Wow.
I'm trying to keep this brief, but let me just say this. This mod would not exist without the continuing support of you, our players. Some of you have been following our progress for years, offering encouragement and feedback the whole way. Your involvement in the development of this mod is and has always been invaluable, and your support has made this experience one that this team will treasure for the rest of our lives. On behalf of the entire Armada 3 team, both past and present, I extend to you, all of you, our sincerest thanks and lasting gratitude.
Honestly, at this point I don't think there's anything left to say. Star Trek Armada 3 - The Final Frontier 1.1 and Nemesis are available to download below. We hope you enjoy playing them as much as we've enjoyed making them.
As always, stay classy. Or don't.
- Stellar Parallax & the entire Armada 3 team
WOOOOO! Congrats guy you've done an amazing job as always!
I definitely won't be stalking all your future mods probably maybe.
Much love <3
I sat here thinking since I got off work on how my mind has been as of late. On the rough patch that I've hit for three years and being reminded of my past... The theme of the Borg from Armada kept creeping into my mind at work..
Why? I don't know.
But seeing this released and making me think about the two games and people's memories of them as they tried to make a mod to fit into a world without many good Star Trek games of the past...
I have to say thanks for keeping the memory of such games and memories. Glad we had everyone that worked on this mod.
Thanks, guys!
Thanks, Briaya. We hope things improve for you soon.
Many thanks for such a fantastic mod, I would have never even considered getting Sins if it weren't for you.
Thanks for this all of you dedicated artists. I enjoyed the Discord live stream today; then I began a game with the Final Release... I got spanked badly - so I tried again: Spanked Badly Again. Then I realized I don't have an HQ, meaning (gasp) No Heroes!! Lol. Arghh. Oh boy, please tell me that's an OOPS and there will be a fix... Or (at my old age) am I to be constantly spanked?? Not a thing of mine... Lol!
B-)
So few mods actually pull off getting there, Getting it done, pulling it off. It's impressive when anyone, or any group, does.
Congratulations on making it, you brilliant human beings.
congrats to all of you, and max, you crazy genius, thanks for ever having this idea, it's the reason i made a lot of friend online, if STA3 hadn't existed, i would've never checked out gul's chanel, and never jumped on the teamspeak to talk with these fellas
Thanks, Sanis. :)
Thanks for all the time and energy you've put into this guys. Looking forward to seeing your future work. Cheers.
I love you all. :)
Thanks for the great work. :)
What's this watery substance falling down my cheek, i'm confused :(
The blood of the Emperor's enemies, dear Sanguinius.
Hi "Team Stellar Parallax"
First: A 1000 thanx for Your latest release.
Second: both The "Quickstart" and "The Hero-station" is gone !!!!!
Please fix this.
Hi Arling,
A quick start hotfix is already up and available for download.
So its finally finished.... id love to put some sort of elegant and well worded story to tell how happy and thankful I am for this masterpiece but... I just can't find the words to describe the happiness I feel or the beauty of all you and everyone's work \(T_T)/

Thank you for the work! I never understood why game studios abandoned the armada line, so you really kinda made dreams come true.
So any idea about what is next for Armada? Moving onto Stellaris?
Its honestly a shame you wont be doing anything else with the mod because I thought there was quite a few areas of improvement, but I wont judge. Its up to you the developers to say if the mod is in good shape or not.
I've been playing this mod for years; Armada III with TNG or DS9 in the background has been one of my favorite ways to wind down after a long day and you should all be proud of what you've accomplished. This was a truly awesome feat.
any new ships for the cardassians?
