Much progress has been made in bringing Goldmoor to life, so much in fact that it would not fit into this news post. Therefore, I will just focus on the major developments and leave the smaller stuff for later.
All landscape objects have been completed, region generated, and detailing claims opened. The purpose of the detailing claims is to make each inch of Goldmoor interesting and unique, not just a computer generated land of boring. I have added several new images of Goldmoor to our gallery here, make sure to check them out.
The cities of Goldmoor are also progressing well.
Rihad, the first city players will see when crossing the border, is nearly completed. Rihad was founded by the famous Swordsinger Frandar Hunding. Rihad is unique in that it is a fiercely traditional Forebear city. They consider the empire a powerful ally, but by no means intend to Cyrodiify like Taneth has done. Raha Treigo, a dictator-general who rose to power after the Camoran Usurper defeated the city, rules the city of Rihad. The city is defined by its fort-like layout, with many tight streets and courtyards. Parts of the city are separated by gates and walls, making it a very efficiently defensible fortress. at 15 cells, Rihad is significantly larger then an average Oblivion city.
Check out this video overview of Rihad.
Taneth is also well on its way to completion. It is in fact available for claiming, so if you'd like to make this magnificent city a reality please head over to our forum. Taneth is ruled by Duchess Clavilla, a staunch Imperial supporter who denounces all traditional Redguard ways. Though the exact nature of Taneth's founding is unknown, most agree that it was founded by the child of the rulers of Rihad and Hegathe and named Tanyedt. After the Camoran Usurper destroyed Tanyedt in the mid 3rd Era, the Empire helped to rebuild it and made the city, now called Taneth, into an Imperial Duchy.
The rest of the project is also making great progress. Most plants and trees have already been completed for the next region, the Helkori Plains. Interiors have been made for the Middle Class Goldmoor set, as has interior clutter and decoration. I've added some pictures of all that to our gallery as well.
I hope that this post has done a sufficient job of showing the progress of the mod. Check out our thread on the official Bethesda forum for more juicy screenshots and information. Our new Blog may also be of interest as it provides info about the insides of the mod as well as progress updates.
on behalf of Tamriel Rebuilt,

Looks good.
Shweet. This mod may make me reinstall Oblivion :D
Looks pretty hawt. I'll certainly try it when it comes out.
nifty nifty, so you guys are working on hammerfell?
This mod is now on my watchlist, it looks awesome.
Is this open city (like as in no loading when entering the city) or is it like the original game's cities where it has to load before you enter?
Regardless it looks great and I think its a shame that Bethesda wasn't able to deliver the entire world of Tamriel in Oblivion. I'm expecting it in the new one but I have doubts since as trends suggest Bethesda scale down their content with every game.
I truly miss daggerfall :( this mod is epic and I wish you the best of luck with it. Can't wait to see it finished.
Is this going to be an add on or will it replace parts of the original world?
Yep, we are working on Hammerfell ;)
Rihad is a closed city, it is in fact made up of several world spaces. Taneth is also closed but only one world space. open cities are simply impractical because they greatly slow down the game unless the user has an uber PC. doing cities closed gives us greater freedom in detailing both the cities and the wilderness. Rihad is much more detailed than the original cities, we would not have been able to make it such with an open layout.
I actually prefer smaller, more detailed games like oblivion and morrowind to daggerfall and arena. the early games were massive but they were proceduraly generated and generally boring. i'd like to see Bethesda focus on doing a small but highly detailed and exciting world as opposed to all of Tamriel in a sloppy or non detailed fashion.
It is an add on accessible through several border forts and a cave from cyrodiil.
to be fair, daggerfall wasn't procedurally generated - the entire gameworld is generated from a seed. if you go to the same spot twice you'll find the same tree, not that it matters since the entire thing is generic and there's no content out there in the wilderness. the cities were constructed out of "blocks", like Lego. it'd be great if, one day, developers were to focus on and refine the methods of content creation to blend the scope and scale of games like daggerfall/arena with the levels of detail of games like morrowind/oblivion
this mod looks awesome but i have a question. i want to play the silgrad tower mod which replaces the morrowwind area in oblivion. will i be able to have silgrad and your mod working side by side or will it corrupt?
both silgrad tower and Hammerfell take place in completely different worldspaces, so there will be no conflict what so ever :) in fact, Hammerfell should not conflict with any mod.
Great work!
