Just a small update with the intention of letting everyone know that this is still in production and it has had some developments in the last months.

Since Praetorians like most Imperial Guard troops have access to some nice artillery pieces i decided to give them a powerful ability based on off map artillery support.

Afriels are albine genetically engineered soldiers and so their eyes should be something like red due to the lack of pigmentation. This eye texture was done using GrayWolf0 high quality eye textures.

Just showing some of the usable wargear which of course might remain not visible in most applications but is there and works correctly since the marine body is pretty much synched with the force commander body. It would still need some texture changes (at least to avoid colour bleed issues with the space marines).

There is way more than this but not all can or should be shown (we have to keep some surprises don't you think?).

The equivalent to the last tier in Praetorians is a 3 branch division of allied units. One is afriel genetically engineered soldiers, other is deathwatch marines and the last involves mercenaries (including orks which were regularly used by Praetorians to fight against the ork tribes in their territory).

I like the mercenaries option. Will we be seeing pirates, brigands, hivegangs etc. rabble aswell?

Will mostly depend on available models or in case we are lucky custom made models but anything that could fight for some money (or in the orks case weapons and a battle) could be a part of the mercenaries branch, in fact i already have similar suggestions added to a wish list (list of things that would be interesting to have but currently lack, for example, models for them). Praetorians have a good ammount of units on their own but this allies allow different tactics to be used, afriel represent heavy infantry with fast attacks as a base (they have downsides which are from the curse system mostly), mercenaries have a more wide variety of troop types (orks for close combat, other mercenaries for ranged combat and vehicles), deathwatch branch would be mostly for players who like though units with several passive and active abilities (the librarian should represent a good part of the active abilities).

Either: Option A...

How many children does your video's new bombard ability contain?

Option B...

How many childs are contained in your video's new bombard ability?

Few glad that is over.

This ability is supposed to represent a battery of either fixed or mobile artillery firing from somewhere in the rear. A battery of artillery can have a considerable ammount of guns.

It only contains 3 different child abilities. Better sounds were added later but i didn't record a new video at the time.
You seriously didn't think i had done each shot a child ability or something?

If you mean how many abilities were activated. Only one bombard was activated to record this. That is just one bombardment, still needs a correction near the end, that i discovered later.

I created an ability full of 146 childs of Tyranid Planetary Bombardment, so.... ;3) Ah, yeah was just curious as it looked like a concentrated fire point ability.

And ohhhhh better sounds!!!! Sounds are too important.

It is something like what JL described at relicnews:
"the pewwwwwwwwwwWWWWWWWWWWWWW.......BOOOOOMM !!! sound you can find the event in the vanilla version"

To save you the work of adding more childs to your already small sized children ability, I think you can add in an event file of just sounds by it being added to the... the.... god damnit, well it is the before ability go off thing with a timer delay that then activates the ability, for example, the Orbital Bombardment for the sake of LD's unclearness-ness. ;P

Otherwise I think I know what ya mean via dat sound. Hope to see the final touches of it, it looks promising. Not only that, simplistic. :3

I like the look of the Afriel Trooper.

And I'm interested how you'll bring the wargear into play.

The wargear screen was mostly a way to check all available wargear and see if there were any object issues or something wrong. Yet the deathwatch captain will be a secondary commander with upgradable wargear (each piece of wargear won't be upgraded individually but they will be used to provide a different look and stats).
A secondary commander related with Afriels will also use a wargear upgrade system and possibly a still undefined mercenary leader will also use a similar system.
I have planned it to be something like 1st weapons upgrade (possibly divided between ranged and melee), an armor upgrade, morale/active/passive benefits upgrade (halo for captain for example) and the 2nd weapons upgrade. I don't want the player to upgrade each thing individually but rather i prefer to categorize wargear types. These researches will cost mostly power as Praetorians have 2 complementary ways to gain this resource which will be used mostly for researches and vehicles.
