Dear friends of Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare,
finally eight months of more modding, mapping, and scripting are basically done since the first release of Star Wars Mod: Galactic Warfare for COD4. Today we are happy to present our version 0.8b which
is still beta because of some things which we think are necessary to call the project “final”.
The mod is a non-profit project operated by fans. Star Wars, its characters, locations, weapons and all associated items are the intellectual property of Lucasfilm. ©2009 Lucasfilm Ltd. & ™ All rights reserved.
The new version contains the three new maps (“Bespin”, “Bestine” and “Not A Cave”), a revised “Mos Eisly”, new weapons and also a new game type called Very Important Droid (VID).
We hope you will enjoy playing! Thanks to all who supported us within the last months. We are still stunned by the enormous feedback we have received. Around 50000 downloads and more than 700000 visitors on our YouTube Channels are the backbone of our motivation to go on with the mod. A lot of your ideas and recommendations are already integrated to this release and others will follow with the final version. There is for example still no further kill streak and Tie-Fighter as well as X-Wing are used instead of Tie-Bomber and Y-Wing. But those things are already in the works.
You will hopefully enjoy our new version of SWM: Galactic Warfare for the time being and we hope to see you on our server for some battle.

you can still run cod4 from the exe in your steam folder, just dl the mod like normal and activate it from within cod.
FYI, there IS possibly a way to get your account back on the Steam support page, thankfully I haven't needed to use it...

I get an error when connecting to your server. "Error Server is a different version: 1.7"
Seems like you have yet to, or failed, at uppdating the server.
1.7 is the latest version of COD4. I guess its you who needs to update!

I have Cod 4 MW on v.1.7, and the new beta of this, but still I don't seem to find any other severs as the 2 GWM servers, which are empty, and as it seems running at 0.4 of GWM :(
Does anybody know other servers that are up and running (players would be nice also :P)

The server browser is listing regular servers as gametype *SWM* so I can't find an actual SWM server.

Hey, I recently bought call of duty 4 and I have been really enjoying the single player campeign. However, when I tried to play multi player it didn't find any servers. Does nobody play this game multiplayer anymore, or is there somthing that I have to do to be able to play online? Any help would be appreciated.
This mod looks really really awsome, great job guys. I have always wished there was a PC StarWars game with some decent combat gameplay.
Did you install any of the oatches? If not do so, until you reach 1.7, then you are fine to go with vanilla MW MP

Vanilla = stock game with no modifications
MW MP = modern warfare multiplayer

I can find the 1.7 patch but it needs the 1.6 patch first and the download from filefront doesn't work. Where do you get the 1.6 patch?

Make sure at the top on the server browser the filter is on Internet and not Lan.

so far every thing okay with my installation?
Can start the mod if i enter by the maingame and then mods. So but if im searching now for a server, cant find any on which is runnign star wars mod, filter is configured on mods...
Where i made a mistake?

Seems that every body suffers from the same problem right now: There ain't no more than 2 servers, and there is something wrong with the official servers, or at least I couldn't join them with 0.8
And is everything okay with my installation??
