Star Wars: Jedi Fighter beta 2 is getting close to release in late December!
The purpose of beta 2 is to get real world testing done for the multiplayer gameplay mechanics, collect feedback on fighter balancing, the maps, and on anything else you want to provide!
This youtube video shows off some of the features (and debug code and quirks) you'll see in the beta :
- Compatibility with OpenJK and with vanilla Jedi Academy with the same installation
- A cool combo execution system, reminiscent of Street Fighter II and the Last Blade series
- 1 vs 1 gameplay, spectators supported!
- An almost final set of default fighters, some familiar and some from the expanded universe:
- Luke Skywalker
- Darth Vader
- Kyle Katarn
- Mara Jade Skywalker
- Chewbacca the Wookie
- Wedge Antilles
- TK421 - isn't he a little short to be a storm trooper?
- Maarek Stele - force sensitive Tie Pilot, star of the Tie Fighter series
- Carnor Jax - attempted assassin of the emperor, eventual destroyer of the Royal Guard...
(Fighters are customizable through text files, so expect to hear more about making your server's own unique fighter sets in January!)

Why Vader's blade changing color?
That's a debug feature which will be gone by the beta. His saber is going red when a combo was matched and a special move gets triggered.
Would love the ability to customize your jedi/play-style through custom models and lightsaber colors!
The beta is getting some final touches for release on January 10th, 2016. Sorry for the delay, but there were some broken features that needed to be fixed prior to release.
In the meantime, check out the Jedi Fighter images section for a new screenshot showing off the HD fonts, widescreen support, and a really cool on-screen help for combos!

Waiting for it
So is this supposed to be a better version of Tera Kasi?
Sorry all, Real Life (TM) interfered with time to work on Jedi Fighter this week, so going to need a few more days.
The new date for beta 2 is Jan. 18th, 2016 (or earlier).
Just to give an update, all of the beta 2 features are ready except for adding a few special moves. The new moves are implemented as "fighter programs" which is why they are taking a little longer than expected to complete. More info on fighter programs will be released when beta 2 is out.
Next weekend is a 4 day weekend, so I will have a lot of time to get the new moves properly implemented and released.
I'll post a new article with an official update. Thanks for your patience.
Doing final packaging and will be uploading the release and install instruction tomorrow.
Most bugs squashed, and it should be pretty playable.
