An article on Engadget has caught sight of a new Star Wars-themed virtual reality experienced that will be coming soon from the ILM Experience Lab - a division of Industrial Light and Magic established to explore new film technologies like VR and AR.
It's called Star Wars: Trials On Tatooine - A Cinematic Virtual Reality Experiment. Trials On Tatooine was leaked via a trailer for the experience which incorrectly went live on the ILM YouTube Channel before quickly being set back to private.
The experience, captured in a series of screenshots, is described by Engadget as featuring "a glimpse at the Vive headset, along with a VR trip in the Star Wars universe featuring everything from R2-D2 to player-controlled lightsaber battles."
This isn't the first official Star Wars-themed experience to debut for VR, as last year's Jakku Spy was made available for Google Cardboard. ILM Experience Lab appears to be pushing for bigger and more involved VR content, if Trials on Tatooine is anything to go by. We'll update with the full trailer once it's made live.
