We realize the past month has been slow in terms of news on mod development; this is because most of the work that is being done is behind the scenes as we finalize gameplay discussions and implement the plans into code. We have had a big push thanks to a new developer named Momouk who has been added to the team to specifically keep us on track in terms of deadlines. Fortunately, we have a strong group of developers so these discussions are getting finished at a feverish pace as we reach closer to our ever closing release date.
I do have some new eye candy to share with you, though. The first is a model you've all seen before, our MC90 Star Cruiser, the New Republic Battleship. The model was originally done by EvilleJedi. The texture was then redone by Overfiend to look more "organic" in nature. I've been working on smooth correcting the models and creating new normal and specular maps to bring our models more to life. After getting 30% of our shiplist under my belt, in terms of fixing and creating, I decided to try my hand at this behemoth. Eight hours later, this is the result:
Sizer, our graphic lead artist, has been working on finalizing all the models and textures on our extensive shiplist. This model was originally done by Lord X, the Hutt Interceptor Frigate. Unfortunately, the UV Map and texture was never completed for the model and sat on our developer shelves for some time. Fortunately, Sizer was able to dedicate himself to the project and create an incredible texture for this Hutt Class Captial Ship.
We now are patiently waiting for our A9 Interceptor texture to be completed. At this point, our entire shiplist will be complete and finalized. Only took three years...
That's it for now for eye candy. If I get some time in the next few weeks, I'll also work on a new developer video.
