The dev team has been hard at work the past couple weeks, and one of the things we’ve been working on is solidifying Spark gameplay. The Spark is more than just something that wanders around controlling meatsuits; it’s a full-on bioelectric being. As Sparks, you and your friends can interact with Hephaestus Station and its inhabitants in many ways.

The dev team has been hard at work the past couple weeks, and one of the things we’ve been working on is solidifying Spark gameplay. The Spark is more than just something that wanders around controlling meatsuits; it’s a full-on bioelectric being. As Sparks, you and your friends can interact with Hephaestus Station and its inhabitants in many ways.

Body swap with your friends, hop out to interact with a computer, or even dive into a Core that’s already being driven by a friend’s Spark. Since you’re no longer driving, you’ll have extra to bring an array of wicked cool powers to bear:

  • Voltaic Bolt
    Fry your friend’s enemies with generated electric shocks. Kazap!

  • Holo Barrier
    A directed energy barrier created by concentrating your Spark’s energy to block projectiles and incoming energy. Riding along, you can use this to literally cover your friend’s rear end (or front end, or side…end?).

  • Electropulse
    Eels have nothing on a Spark’s ability to emit a damaging electric field. Things getting a little too hot nearby? Send a wave of bioelectric energy to damage the mob.

But wait, there’s more! Jumping into Cores isn’t the only thing you can Sync to. Sync with electronics around the space station to really eat through the Hephaestus Conglomerate’s resources:

  • Mechs may be inert, awaiting instructions. Good news, Sparks are great at giving machines instructions. Sync with them to become the pilot and instruct those mechs to crush your enemies.
  • Turrets can ruin anyone’s day. Hack into them, take control, and fire barrages of energy bolts to make sure it’s not your day that’s ruined.
  • Terminals everywhere provide an electronic window into the space station. Use them to open (or shut!) doors, silence the alarms, or even gather valuable data from the Hephaestus Conglomerate to fulfill your objectives and consolidate your power. Hack the planet!

Death isn’t the end. Without a body—a Core—your options to affect the physical world can be limited, but Sync with your friends and keep on fighting! Or get the Station to dispense another Core from the cryopods so you can have access to your weapons once again. But beware: The Station only has so many of these humanoid popsicles in each Sector, so utilize your Spark to stretch those resources!
