More excellent progress this month, with their own weapons, health, speeds, sizes and viewpoints each of the classes is gaining it's own unique feel and playing style. Using team colours in the HUD is also transforming the half-life feel into something more distinctly...Exterminatus. We have recruited some sound technicians this month, I look forward to hearing how their footsteps, hoof treads and death screams add to the immersion of the mod.
The Tyranid Zoanthrope got it's custom model animated and in-game this month and were all very pleased with how very alien it looks, which has us psyched up for the rest of the player models. Sadly this will be a long old drag to get the other classes done as we are still lacking experienced animators to complete them.
Of course the EXs weapons went in-game so fast you haven't even seen the Heavy Weapons Marine's equipment yet, so here's a shot showing the Heavys weapons load out as he spawns in one of the MDK test maps, toting the marines most potent weapon the Heavy Bolter.
We also got around to analysing the statistics we've been logging, you might be interested to see the results from our last alpha test. They are rather focused on the Zoanthrope, but then that was what we were testing in that session.
Next month? More animation work on the Tyranid Lictor and Warrior models. With any luck we might even get them in-game in time for next months news.
Speaking of work...
I'm being made redundant at the end of March and I am looking for work. If anyone wants to hire a modeller, skinner, texture artist, mapper / programmer in the South East of England please get in-touch.
Neato :)
Too bad the heavy bolter view_model isn't really visible in-game.
Yeah. Wish i'd thought of that before I had modelled more then just the top grip.
Looking good, keep up the good work! :)
Oh another South-East mapper like myself. :)
But on topic I like the model if a little different from the usual work style in most games...The custom sky is great as well.
Good work.
